Valentine Tablescape

Monday, January 25, 2021

Happy Monday, My Lovelies!  I don't know what it's been like in your neck of the woods, but here in Central Alabama it has been wet, foggy, and cold.  I'm over winter....soooooo over it.

So I took down all wintry decor (snowmen, etc.) and shelved all winter-related books.  I decided to look ahead to Valentine's Day, and I decorated it for weekend breakfasts.

Lately I've been baking muffins and cooking coddled eggs on the weekends.  These little heart plates are perfect for muffins.  I set the table for six because there's three of us: we can use three place settings for  Saturday and three for Sunday.

I love the large napkin rings (a gift from a friend):  The table doesn't really need fresh flowers!

We usually don't eat at this table with just the three of us except on the weekend.  We burn candles throughout the week to make our home cozy.

How can I not have two love bugs on a Valentine's table?  The salt and pepper shakers are Westies like our Mustang Sally and Finlay.

We only have a couple of other small Valentine's Day decorations out....nothing exciting.  I can't decide whether or not to decorate for Mardi Gras this year because everything has been canceled.  Mardi Gras is early this year (February 16th) which  means that Easter will also be early.

Do you decorate for Valentine's Day and Mardi Gras?

Until next time...

Blessings!
Ricki Jill

  1. Hellooooo sweet friend and Happy Monday. Love love the salt and pepper shakers. So sweet and cute. Your table looks so pretty for Valentine's day. It is cold and gloomy here in Illinois too. We are under a severe storm warning today. We could get 12 inches of snow. The first real snow accumulation of our season so far. We all knew it was coming! So staying home and staying warm with some tea and blogs today. Have a great day.
    Hugs,

  3. Very nice displays to shake the winter blues, Ricki Jill. I love the organic edges of those plates with the simple and small red heart. The Taylor ceramics are so nice. I don't go all out for Valentine's Day, but I have a few things scattered about. Here' looking toward spring!

  5. I decorate for Valentines Day, but never for Mardi Gras. I love your heart dishes, they are so cute! I also put away the snowmen and wintery decor, however today we are having lots of snow! Enjoy your breakfasts at this festive table!

  7. I don't have a lot of Valentine's Day things (dishes, etc.) but I will put up what I can on February 1. Or maybe a couple of days before. This is so very cute -- love the hearts and the wonderful combo of different pieces, blooms and more! So cheerful!

  8. Your table is very pretty. We are decorated for Winter and St. Valentine's Day. Next ST. Patrick's Day. The weather is very light mix rain and snow. Don't like the snow but the cold weather we will take over the hot weather any day.
