You Have Inspired Me!

Thursday, February 23, 2012

I want to thank all of my bloggy friends.  You inspire me every single day to dream, create, give, love, and laugh.

Now you are even inspiring me in my art.

Here are the next three images I am planning on painting.  Each image is from a blog I follow:

Photobucket

From Red Rose Alley's gorgeous post on clouds
I recently attended a painting workshop, and the focus was on clouds.  I want to practice what I learned!

I love the composition and contrast in this image.

I think the bulb turned vase with napkin ring as stand is brilliant!  I think this would make a quirky and fun painting.

I am finishing two still life paintings this week, and I cannot wait to begin painting one of these images.  Now I have to decide which one to start painting first.  What do you think about these subjects?  Would you like one of these subjects hanging on your wall?  Please give me feedback because I am trying to figure out what people prefer.

What's inspiring you today?

  1. They are all three so different and unique and I think they will all make beautiful objects for a painting. I think I would vote for the clouds first. You know me, I'm always taking sky and nature shots because I love the outdoors! And, you can see so many things in the clouds, they can be anything you want them to be. Good luck, can't wait to see all three of your paintings

  3. Although Mathew Mead's roses are classic, I would very much enjoy seeing the last image of the light bulb vase on my wall.

  8. How can you go wrong with anything with flowers. Is that a bulb used as a vase? How clever is that.

  12. It's hard to choose among the three :) but If I would narrow down my choices, I think picture 3 is the best. I love the combination of elegance in the picture.

By the way, you too inspire me to blog. I actually look up to you and your blog. I admire you as a blogger and mother. If I would describe a perfect mom, that would be you. If I will become a wife and mother, I wanted to be like you. Thanks for sharing your beautiful life too.

  24. Ricki Jill,

I am excited to hear how your painting of my mom (Sheri's) photo turns out! Maybe you can post it when you are finished. I also thought it was so interesting that your in-laws live in the Garden District in New Orleans. You are a lucky woman :-) We wanted to visit the Garden District, but we ran out of time. I heard it is beautiful. Have a lovely weekend!
