Happy Tuesday, My Lovelies!  I am so happy you're visiting my blog.  Today we're sharing our Valentine's Day tablescapes.  If you're linking in order, you just left Linda's gorgeous blog.  She always creates the most fun tablescapes, doesn't she!

My Friend Rita from the Panoply Blog hosts these blog hop parties, and she does such a nice job organizing everything and keeping us on track.

Thank-you so much, Rita, for organizing these talescape blog hops.  You're the best!

I found these felt conversation hearts at Michaels a few weeks ago, and I thought they were so cute that I purchased them.  I was planning to use them as filler in a glass vase, but I changed my mind and scattered them on a plain pink linen table runner.

I set our breakfast room table for breakfast for two (for Mr. Bookish and me).  I used very old placemats I purchased from Kohl's several years ago.  I also used a few MacKenzie-Childs heart pieces (small plates and paperweights).

The plate stacks consist of MacKenzie-Childs flat rimmed dinner plates and Royal Check and Rosy Check heart-shaped plates.  I thought it would be fun to use the Royal Check on the table for Mr. Bookish.  I also set the table with linen napkins that match the runner.

Mr. Bookish has already put in a request for heart-shaped scones, hot tea, coddled eggs, and toast for breakfast.

It's a simple tablescape, but we think it's super fun.

Conversation Hearts Tablescape for Valentine's Day

Tuesday, January 28, 2025

Happy December, My Lovelies!  Are you having a nice Advent Season so far?  We started December in New Orleans, and it was so much fun visiting friends.  I feel very organized this year, and I'm planning to have more quiet time for devotion and Advent studies.

Today I'm joining fourteen other stylists for a Christmas Tabelscape Blog Hop Party hosted by Sweet Rita from the Panoply Blog.

Thank-you so much, Rita, for hosting these tablescape blog hops.
They're always so much fun!

If you're hopping in order, you just visited Patti's blog, Pandora's Box.  I want to thank you for linking over to my little corner of the internet.  I have been looking forward to this for weeks!

The theme for this tablescape in our dining room is "evergreen."  I was inspired by my new napkins from GreenRow.  I was smitten when I saw them on their site, and I ordered a set of them.  GreenRow is a brand whose parent company is Williams-Sonoma.

The cheerful napkins feature different types of evergreen trees on a jaunty background of contemporary chartreuse polka dots.

The plate stacks feature modern plates from Crate and Barrel.  I've had them for many years.

I decided on a living "evergreen" centerpiece planted in a vintage Annie Glass boat from San Francisco.

I chose a selection of ferns and white cyclamen.  I like the frosty fern because it looks wintry.

I also purchased a set of green glasses from GreenRow.
The fun evergreen wreath napkin rings are new, and they're from Hobby Lobby.

I also decorated the Welsh Dresser with candles, a flocked tree, and felt garland.

If you're looking for a fun Christmas read, may I recommend:

Evergreen Inspired Christmas Tablescape

Tuesday, December 3, 2024

Happy Tuesday, My Lovelies!  How is your week going so far?  We've been enjoying fresh fruits and vegetables lately: I've been cooking up a storm!  I usually only spend this much time in the kitchen during the Christmas holidays, but honestly, I'm enjoying it, and I'm thankful we have several fantastic community supported agriculture opportunities close to us.  If you haven't already, you can follow along as I post about our adventure eating this summer.

Today I'm participating in a fun blog hop featuring summertime tablescapes.  If you're linking over from Everyday Living, I appreciate your visit: I am very grateful you've chosen to spend a few moments in my little corner of the interwebs.  Summer will be here (officially) on Thursday, June 20th.  I love summer, and I cannot WAIT to see how all the other 18 stylists have interpreted summer on their tables.

In early June the world of leaf and blade and flowers explode, and every sunset is different.
— John Steinbeck

I'd like to thank Sweet Rita from the Panoply blog for hosting these link parties.  She does a wonderful job organizing them each season.

I had wanted to go outside for this one, but we had a few rainy days when I was planning and setting my table, so I set it in our dining room.

Here I've placed everything on the table and hutch except for the flowers.

With the flowers

Overhead view

Obviously my theme is All-American Red, White, and Blue.  I added denim elements made from upcycled blue jeans.  There aren't many things more American than jeans!

The Plate Stacks

I paired our wedding china (Wedgwood's Rosedale) with a modern "dipped" salad plate (Royal Stafford).  Both are placed on a willow placemat from Pier1.

Denim upcycled napkin rings hold two napkins featuring the color scheme.

The Details

I chose bright red votive holders and a MacKenzie-Childs Royal Check star plate because of their colors.  Also our American flags traditionally sport a five-pointed star.
Red roses are always appropriate for a patriotic table because the red rose is our national flower.

I decorated the Welsh dresser a little with a red, white, and blue garland.
I also added one of my small daily paintings in the color scheme (tomatoes always remind me of summer) and a candlestick with a red candle.

Resources:

Below are the items that are currently available for purchase.

Royal check vases and star:  MacKenzie-Childs
Red dinner candle:  Root via The Fresh Market

Denim table runner:  Etsy via @FordCountry
Blue jean napkin rings:  Etsy via @ThreeSheltiesandacat

I have one last share before the links to the other stylists' blogs.  Did you know that our national anthem has four stanzas?  I had no idea, and I was particularly touched by the last one.

“The Star-Spangled Banner,”
originally “Defence of Fort McHenry”

by Francis Scott Key (1779–1843)
written Sept. 14–16, 1814
Tune: “Anacreon in Heaven”

Red, White, and Blue Summertime Tablescape

I love the color of the carnations!

Table in process

Hello, My Lovelies!  Welcome to the Spring and Easter Tablescape Blog Hop hosted by Rita @ Panoply!

Today I'm sharing our casual table in our kitchen.  Our dining room tablescape was one hot mess.  The lighting was horrible, and our tulips failed to open even after trying the penny trick.  So I completely gave-up on the dining room!   I'm in the process of taking everything down and putting it away!  *sadface*

So.....I decided to be kind to myself, have a better attitude, and focus on the kitchen.  I'm having to rely on others to help out these days, especially when it comes to running errands, like picking out flowers, etc.  Although the tulips were an epic failure, I do love the carnations.  I asked for colorful, and that's what I got!  *big smile*

I took a few photos before I finished setting the kitchen table because the sun miraculously came out, and it made me happy!  Here are a few more.  It's funny because I had the Cadbury chocolate on the table before the silverware and teacups and saucers.  Priorities, y'all!

I removed the large S&P set and placed it on the breakfast bar.  But I do like how it looks with this tablecloth!

Enough playing in the sun!  Time to finish the table!

I set the table for Easter dessert.  I'm hoping I can return to church by Easter, and after the service we will enjoy brunch at our country club. Then we'll come home for special Easter egg-shaped cupcakes I have baked many times over the years.  We'll also drink tea with our dessert.  I'm not saying we won't also have dessert at the country club because that would be lying!  ;P

This is my favorite place setting because I like the color combinations:

We don't need the S&P on the table at all for dessert, but Shelley likes them out for Easter.
Just keeping it real, LOL!

This is my favorite Easter candy.  I like the cream eggs and the chocolate eggs.  Shelley's favorites are in the dining room; she likes the egg-shaped Reese's peanut butter cups and Hershey's marshmallow eggs.  What's your favorite Easter candy?

I like the butterfly teapot for spring and summer.
