Casual Easter Tablescape

I love the color of the carnations!

Table in process

Hello, My Lovelies!  Welcome to the Spring and Easter Tablescape Blog Hop hosted by Rita @ Panoply!

Today I'm sharing our casual table in our kitchen.  Our dining room tablescape was one hot mess.  The lighting was horrible, and our tulips failed to open even after trying the penny trick.  So I completely gave-up on the dining room!   I'm in the process of taking everything down and putting it away!  *sadface*

So.....I decided to be kind to myself, have a better attitude, and focus on the kitchen.  I'm having to rely on others to help out these days, especially when it comes to running errands, like picking out flowers, etc.  Although the tulips were an epic failure, I do love the carnations.  I asked for colorful, and that's what I got!  *big smile*

I took a few photos before I finished setting the kitchen table because the sun miraculously came out, and it made me happy!  Here are a few more.  It's funny because I had the Cadbury chocolate on the table before the silverware and teacups and saucers.  Priorities, y'all!

I removed the large S&P set and placed it on the breakfast bar.  But I do like how it looks with this tablecloth!

Enough playing in the sun!  Time to finish the table!

I set the table for Easter dessert.  I'm hoping I can return to church by Easter, and after the service we will enjoy brunch at our country club. Then we'll come home for special Easter egg-shaped cupcakes I have baked many times over the years.  We'll also drink tea with our dessert.  I'm not saying we won't also have dessert at the country club because that would be lying!  ;P

This is my favorite place setting because I like the color combinations:

We don't need the S&P on the table at all for dessert, but Shelley likes them out for Easter.
Just keeping it real, LOL!

This is my favorite Easter candy.  I like the cream eggs and the chocolate eggs.  Shelley's favorites are in the dining room; she likes the egg-shaped Reese's peanut butter cups and Hershey's marshmallow eggs.  What's your favorite Easter candy?

I like the butterfly teapot for spring and summer.

  2. Ricki Jill, your kitchen table turned out just wonderful-so I am glad you took a different direction! My tables always seem to more into something slightly different than originally planned and it usually turns out for the better! I adore your tablecloth!! It is perfect for mixing and matching all of your lovely MKC patterned plates. How fun it must be to put together all of those combinations. Love the tea pot with the butterfly as well!! So cute!! Wishing you a beautiful Easter and a wonderful spring 🐣💜🌷

  3. I feel you "flower pain". I bought bunches of closed daffodils at Trader Joes and they sat in water for a week and never opened! Lesson learned. Now my daffodils in the garden are covered in snow, but they are starting to bloom. I love how you mixed your MC with the egg dishes - perfect match! Have a wonderful Easter Oh, and I adore your Buttercup S&P shakers!

  4. Ricki, your table has a burst of color and energy to it. Light can be tricky but setting the table in the kitchen allowed all the special pieces to shine! Beautiful table for an Easter meal.
    Happy Easter,

  7. Love, love your table. I'm with you that tablecloth is fabulous and looks so good with your MKC dishes. The Pier 1 egg plates look great paired with your MKC pattern, too. The teapot with the sweet butterfly is charming! I really like it. Of course your candlesticks are very sweet too. The pastel gingham napkins are the perfect jewelry for your table and I like the way you styled them.
Now, all this talk of chocolate easter eggs etc. is making me want some.
    Fun tablescape hopping again.
RJ, have a great Easter lunch with your family at the CC.

  8. Ricki Jill, your table is beautiful as are the color of the carnations. It is kind of funny how tablescapes work out sometimes in my head but not on the table. Then other times, it is all serendipitous. I love all of your MKC pieces and I can’t choose a favorite Easter candy, I love all of them! It is a treat to hop with you…Happy Easter 🙏🏻

  9. Ricki Jill, your table is very pretty in your kitchen. Bloggers have to roll with the flow when it comes to lighting and props. LOL Living in Florida, we can not grow plants with bulbs especially those needing to winter over to assist with their growing season. I love tulips, peonies, daffodils, crocus etc but alas....they can't grow here so I have to live vicariously through others' gardens.Your plate stack is lovely and I adore your salt and peppers. I, too have a collection of them and I think they add that little somethin' somethin' to a table.
Have a great and glorious day.

  10. So cute Ricki Jill, a wonderful pattern mix in soft Spring colors! The tablecloth is perfect with your plates stacks of MKC and egg plates. The gingham napkins look so cute, and the salt and peppers are absolutely adorable! I love that you made it a priority to get chocolate on the table first 😂 I would have trouble resisting a piece every time I walked past!

  12. Oh be still my heat on your pretty butterfly teapot, Ricki Jill! Your tablecloth sure sets the stage for all your pretty things. My favorite Easter candy are Russell Stover raspberry or strawberry cream eggs. I've eaten three already! I also like my homemade peanut butter eggs covered in chocolate. I'd better make some!

  13. I love your table Ricki Jill! Your pastel egg plates are perfect with your MKC Taylor ceramics plates. I had to chuckle at “Cadbury chocolate on the table before the silverware and teacups and saucers. Priorities, y'all!” Your double carnations are so pretty and colorful. I think tulips are overrated…short vase life, droopy, closed up tight or blown wide open. I have butterfly teapot envy! :) As always it’s a treat to join you at the table and hop with you! Happy Easter to you. ♥

  16. Ricki Jill, I'm sorry your dining room table was a disappointment. That happens! But you certainly shared a fun, colorful table. I know we use our Taylor ceramics year round, but I've always felt they are a perfect fit for spring. Like you, my butterfly tea pot is a spring delight that comes out to play. I like the idea of using the rings atop the Taylor candle holders. I Need to pull my candle sticks out and use them. I was thinking about using them as little egg stands and with adding on a ring, that might be perfect. I'll play with that idea. Do you remember where you bought your rings? I have a pair, but would like to find more. Happy Spring! Happy Easter!

  17. What a super pretty table! I love the chocolate baskets and the idea of setting for dessert is a wonderful one. (So is brunch out -- makes all that tidying easier!) I had to google the penny trick. Learn something new every day!

  18. What a playful, colorful table setting, Ricki Jill. I love all the color combinations with your magnificent MC Taylor ceramics. The Pier 1 egg plates and napkins are a super mix and match (as are the rings). Your MC collection is so awesome, down to the accessories of the s&p and teapot complementing the plates. Those bobeches caught my eye right at the start too. This table lends a most positive, sunshine-y mood, and who couldn't use that, ANY day?! Thank you for bringing your treasures to the table in this hop. Oh, and my favorite Easter candy are the white chocolate bunnies, the bigger the better!

  21. Ricki Jill, your tablescape is so incredibly sweet. I absolutely love your William Sonoma tablecloth with all of your McK-Child pieces. This isn't just for the liking of children......it is a zesty and fanciful tablescape for us mischievous adults. Your egg plates are stunning and add to the various mix of patterns. So sweet with your tablecloth pattern mix. Oh my gosh....what is my favorite chocolate for Easter??? How about a smooth and creamy Lindt chocolate bunny. I love them all. HAPPY EASTER!

  22. I love how cheerfully colorful your Easter table is! All the pastels go beautifully together on that fabulous tablecloth and the carnations are a bright exclamation point! The different patterns on the dinner plates are a lively counterpoint to the fun salad plates. In fact all the details are fun, though I'm partial to the teapot! Isn't it funny that teapots can be beautiful or whimsical, but coffee pots are...just there! Have a lovely week
