Evergreen Inspired Christmas Tablescape

Tuesday, December 3, 2024

Happy December, My Lovelies!  Are you having a nice Advent Season so far?  We started December in New Orleans, and it was so much fun visiting friends.  I feel very organized this year, and I'm planning to have more quiet time for devotion and Advent studies.

Today I'm joining fourteen other stylists for a Christmas Tabelscape Blog Hop Party hosted by Sweet Rita from the Panoply Blog.

Thank-you so much, Rita, for hosting these tablescape blog hops.
They're always so much fun!

If you're hopping in order, you just visited Patti's blog, Pandora's Box.  I want to thank you for linking over to my little corner of the internet.  I have been looking forward to this for weeks!

The theme for this tablescape in our dining room is "evergreen."  I was inspired by my new napkins from GreenRow.  I was smitten when I saw them on their site, and I ordered a set of them.  GreenRow is a brand whose parent company is Williams-Sonoma.

The cheerful napkins feature different types of evergreen trees on a jaunty background of contemporary chartreuse polka dots.

The plate stacks feature modern plates from Crate and Barrel.  I've had them for many years.

I decided on a living "evergreen" centerpiece planted in a vintage Annie Glass boat from San Francisco.

I chose a selection of ferns and white cyclamen.  I like the frosty fern because it looks wintry.

I also purchased a set of green glasses from GreenRow.
The fun evergreen wreath napkin rings are new, and they're from Hobby Lobby.

I also decorated the Welsh Dresser with candles, a flocked tree, and felt garland.

If you're looking for a fun Christmas read, may I recommend:

  2. Ricki Jill, I love the calming effect your Evergreen tablescape evokes! Not only perfect fo Christmas, but also throughout the winter months. This soothes my always active brain, and I would love to sit at that table (I'm certainly inspired to create something similar!).. I did not know.of Green Row as a subsidiary of WS, happy to be introduced! I love the glasses and napkins. The C&B elements go hand-in-hand with them! And your Welsh Dresser adds that traditional punch of Christmas color to the already colorful MacKenzie-Childs patterns. A beautiful atmosphere! Lucky.you to experience the feeling of preparedness and organization this early in the season. It truly is a good feeling, which I hope to harness very soon.
Thank you for bringing your wonderful artistic flair to our Chrostmas tablescape blog hop.

  4. Ricki Jill, I've pinned your darling display of MC dishes. I always love to see how you will style this beautiful piece full of my favorite MKC Taylor ceramics. I'm going to copy the candlestick idea by adding a candle ring of greens. Really sparks joy! I also pinned the greenery centerpiece. I recently saw some of the frosted ferns. May go back and buy some for a centerpiece. Great idea! It all looks so festive. I love your book recommendation. I must read it again. Love his writing and his memory with his Buddy. You've inspired me to order a few copies and gift them this Christmas. Happy Holidays!

  6. Hi Ricki Jill, What a lovely table and a lovely purchase. The napkins definitely caught my eye too and when put together with the lovely green glasses and the green branch like pattern on your tablecloth, it is a gorgeous combination. I love how you used your dressed up playful plates on your cupboard as a back drop to your table. The small touches on your cupboard subtly conveys that it is the Christmas holiday. Merry Christmas!

Your Welsh dresser is always adorned beautifully. I must find my Truman Capote book and read again. It has been years since I read A Christmas Memory. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
