Never Give Up

Thursday, March 31, 2022

Happy Thursday, My Lovelies!  Can you believe that today is the last day of March?  I'm okay with that because I'm looking forward to warmer weather.

Last week I tried to put together a tablescape in our dining room featuring tulips.  It was one hot mess, I tell ya!  The tulips never opened, and they were droopy.  I was so sad: I love tulips, and Mr. Bookish had gifted me with a MacKenzie-Childs tulipiere.  He suggested that I try a different florist (no.... I didn't buy the original tulips from Trader Joe's).

Well, the second time was the charm!  The tulips are not only pretty colors, but they're opening!  :D

Let's take a look:

Tulip success!

Here is a look at the table as a whole:

Normally I place the bunny tails on the bottom of the backs of the chairs, but Shelley thought they looked better higher.

That's really all I have for today.  We had some storms last night, and our power went out at around midnight, but it came back on thirty minutes or so later.  I didn't get much sleep last night, unfortunately, so I'm keeping this post short!

Until next time...

Blessings!
Ricki Jill

  3. I know that problem too, sadly sometimes tulips just won't open, for me anyway. Such a perfect gift from Mr. Bookish, the tulipiere is perfect for spring and tulips. Second time is the charm, your tulips are lovely and so is the dining room. The bunny cotton tails are darling, I have not seen those. We had several warnings last night but thankfully they expired without any damage here. Happy April, almost......

  5. That MC piece is so sweet. Love the bunny tails on the back of your chairs. I had those same bunny tails and now my daughter has them. I think she talked me out of them on one of our moves lol! Happy Spring and Happy Friday. xoxo Kris

  6. I'm so glad you had tulip success, I adore tulips, I love the way they "dance" and change positions day to day, they fascinate me! Your tulipiere is beautiful!

  7. They look charming and quite beautiful. I thought about you last night when I heard the national weather report -- it sounded like some pesky weather was coming through the Bham area. I'm glad it wasn't too bad.
