BCS National Championship Game

Monday, January 11, 2021

Happy Monday, My Lovelies!

Y'all, I worked very hard this weekend finishing up the worst chore of the year:  taking down all the Christmas decor!  ......and it was everywhere!  I literally had it in every room of the house, especially upstairs.  I did a little bit almost everyday last week, too.  We always like keeping our Christmas decorations up through January 6th.

Once we finished taking down the tree yesterday (I had a wee bit of help, and it was the last of the Christmas chores), I started decorating for the Big Game tonight:  The #1 University of Alabama Crimson Tide will take on the Ohio State Buckeyes.

I decorated the dining room, and we will sort of graze throughout the game.

The University of Alabama Crimson Tide has won 17 National Championships!

Our U of A houndstooth aprons are in the background.

I was hoping we could watch the game outside, but it's going to be too cold this year: Wintry weather is anticipated.

I have the menu planned:

Edgar's Bakery's Cheese Straws
and for dessert:

Crinkle cookies aren't just for Christmas, you know....the colors are Alabama's colors (crimson and white), AND they would be wonderful for Valentine's Day, too!

Jenna @ The Painted Apron will be watching the game, too.  What she's having is a bit more festive than what I'm having, and I would seriously crash her party were it not for COVID.  Click this link to see Jenna's Tide Pride: her plans, decor, and menu for the game.

Will you be watching the game?

Give 'em hell,
Alabama!

Come back tomorrow for

National Hot Tea Day!

Until next time...

  1. Being way far north up here in Canada the game wouldn't really interest me but the menu sure does :)

  2. Oh wow, the Tide killed the Buckeyes! I was rooting for the Tide. Did you know Saban is a native West Virginian? I knew Jenna would be partying, and glad you did too. My niece in Huntsville woke up to snow yesterday! Now you're set for Valentine's Day with your pretty white flowers and red votives. ♥
