Christmas Decor Part One

Saturday, November 14, 2020

Happy Saturday, Lovelies!  I decided to decorate a wee bit early for Christmas (at least early for our family).  I have been finding a lot of joy in it this week!  I have most decor out except for our Christmas tree.  We are decorating it next week, and we will bring in more fresh greenery, forced bulbs, and Poinsettias closer to Christmas, probably the week Advent begins.

I want to apologize up front about the darkness of my photos.  We have had lots of clouds and rain lately, and I can't get great photos.  This post is mainly a preview, and as soon as I have better light, I'll take and then share more of our Christmas decorations.

I like to use red, white, and green-tinted spray roses during Christmas.  Usually that's all I use because I like to focus more on paperwhites and amaryllis.

We use vintage Christmas tree ornaments in bowls and in clear glass vases.
These are in the art studio.

I love silver trees, and this little tabletop one has a collection of tiny neutral ornaments.  The boxed set will be placed on the big tree next week.

I'm not quite finished in the kitchen yet, but it has a pastel, vintage feel.

I bought three Wonder Mee Campanulas today.  This one is in the art studio in a marble container.

More Campanula and variegated ivy.  I also like to use a little ivy during Christmas.  Notice I could only take photos next to windows.

This is the only Poinsettia of the season so far.  I love the pale pink shade.  It's on the chest of drawers in our master bedroom.

Tiny ornaments hanging from organdy ribbon in a kitchen window.  You can barely see our pink roses blooming in the background.

I hope you enjoyed this little preview of our Christmas decor.  I will post more next week, and I will feature our tree as well.

Have you started decorating for Christmas yet?

Until next time...

Blessings!
Ricki Jill

  2. Love all you've accomplished so far RJ. I really like how you decorate, love the vintage, tabletop silver tree and bottle brush trees for the kitchen. I love both of those. I enjoy using both vintage and traditional when I decorate for Christmas. Love your ornaments hanging in the window with the pops of pink Rosses in the background. Yes, we have started here as well. I wrapped packages all day today and Jim put the lights on our big tree. I love Christmas, can't decorate to early here........

  3. Love, love, love! Growing up, we had 3 picture windows in a 2-story home with aluminum trees in each of those windows and our real tree in the living room at Christmas. It was magical, and yours brings back that favorite memory of Christmases past. ♥ I am decorating too....I spent a good part of a day just switching out pillow covers and throws!

  4. I don't like to decorate until Dec. 1...it comes from having a child born on Thanksgiving and he refused to allow Christmas decor until after Thanksgiving and his birthday were properly celebrated! I love your ornaments in the glass cylinders, so pretty with the light shining through the window...and your poinsettia is beautiful!

  5. Ricki Jill-It is so fun to see bits of Christmas at your house. I have always waited until the day after Thanksgiving to decorate for Christmas but I am thinking of doing it early this year. Looking for any bit of joy and brightness I can find. Looks like you are well on your way! xo Diana

  9. So very beautiful, Ricki Jill! I love the bottlebrush trees and the pretty silver tree too. OK, I love it all. I won't decorate till the day after TG but will haul out the holly early the day after! However, I might pull out the fairy lights a bit on the early side. Because you have to have light!
