Pretty Pastel Style by Selina Lake *plus* a Painting Inspired by the Book

Sunday, August 4, 2013

I own all of Selina Lake's books:  Romantic Style, Bazaar Style, Home-Spun Style, and Pretty Pastel Style.  I love them all: They are treasures!

I was so inspired by the book, I painted a painting of a featured bathroom with pale pink fixtures:

Where's the caulk gun?
oil on canvas
9" X 12"

This painting features David Austin roses in a depression glass mug.  It's almost dry, so I'll varnish it at the beginning of next week.  Let me know if you're interested in purchasing it!

  3. I adore this book.
It is so inspiring and makes me happy to look thru it.
Just as it has inspired your gorgeous painting. Ricki Jill you are so talented. I know someone will snatch that painting from you in a heartbeat.
You have been quiet and I hope that things have settled and that is why you have been painting.
Keep it going, you give me such strength to keep fighting.

  4. I have this book and gave the Homespun one to my daughter-in-law! Your painting is lovely! Those roses and that unique little vase. I especially love the faucet.

I think I can smell the roses!

  7. I love that book. I am a pastel person and Hubby is more earthtones. You can tell which rooms in our home now has his input.

  14. These images are so pretty, Ricki Jill, especially the tea cups. And I love this painting. I was noticing your beautiful roses that are home grown in your last post, and Tinkerbell! You know how much I love fairies. The first time I saw Tinkerbell was at Disneyland when I was 6 years old, so I have fond memories of this character.

I hope you are enjoying the summer days, and your roses.

    Love,
    ~Sheri
