My Happy List: Random Summertime Happy

Tuesday, June 11, 2013

Good Tuesday Morning, My Lovelies!

It's time for My Happy List, and I hope you'll link-up what's making you happy in your little corner of the blogosphere.

My Happy List

1.   I love it when my girls are happy.  Check out Shelley's smile!  Mr. Art @ Home bought an old 1980's Boston Whaler and restored it over the winter for her.

2.   I love eating salads in the summer.  Not turning on the oven or stove for dinner makes me very happy!   (Sometimes it's just too hot for that)....
Check out this video for the Best Summertime Salad from Anthropologie.

You may get the recipe here,
from the cookbook, Modern Mediterranean.

LOVE this salad!

3.   On Sunday, I celebrated my 900th post.  Yay!  Happy!!!  If you missed it, here is the link.

4.   I finally got the spring cleaning done at the lake cabin this week.  I left the family at home and came down a couple of days before them so I could work without distractions.  Getting things done makes me so, so happy!   We've had lots of hit and miss showers this weekend, but that's okay!

5.   Finally, I'd like to congratulate Chandler Champion, who was crowned Miss Alabama Saturday night at Samford University.  Chandler was in Shanley Belle's graduating class at The Alabama School of Fine Arts.  She was a dance major at ASFA, and she's studying journalism and dance at The University of Alabama. I *love* her platform.  She promotes literacy through "Chandler's Challenge."

Chandler will represent Alabama in the Miss America Pageant in September. So happy she'll be representing our state!

What's making you happy this week?  Link-up your happy posts!

Until next time...

Blessings!

  4. Congratulations on your 900th post! Quite an accomplishment! Your happy list is a good one. Your daughter looks happy too to have the damp breeze blowing in her hair on the boat her dad worked so hard restoring. And I'll be watching for Chandler as I never miss the pageant. Got to pull for a Southern girl!

  5. RJ,
The salad sounds delicious and I agree, when the weather heats up salads with all kinds of good things in them is the answer. How fun to have the lake cabin all ready for the summer. I'm happy about how my garden is growing right now!

  8. I LOVE salads in the summer, too. Our house is currently registering 84 degrees in here - and when we turn the stove on, it's higher! I am NOT looking forward to July/August in this town! We eat a lot of salads, fruit, and sandwiches this time of the year!!

I'd look as happy as your daughter if I were out on the boat, too!

Thanks for hosting My Happy List - it's something I look forward to throughout the week! (I mentioned ya in my blog today, too! ;))
