Today I'm sharing my Welcome Fall Tablescape with thirteen other designers/bloggers. I entitled my post "Plum Assignment" as a nod to back to school and the predominate color in my tablescape. Welcome to our dining room! Come on in!
The plum MacKenzie-Childs pumpkins are the inspirations for the table. You can see them on the Welsh Cupboard on the right. I thought the purple would be a nice compliment to our yellow walls.
If you notice, there are two different floral arrangements on the table. I was not as enamored with the first one, and I like the yellow and plum mums in the second one. I love chrysanthemums, and they are fall's most prolific flower.
I have the table set for breakfast. I love how the morning sunlight streams through our windows in this room during late summer and early fall.
We normally have fruit and breads on the weekends.
I have a couple of favorite bakeries for sourdough breads and pastries.
Since my husband's family is British, we drink lots of tea.
I always put honey in my tea for my allergies.

I matched MacKenzie-Childs dinner plates to them and used them as chargers.

Love the fun and colorful plate stack. Your botanical Italian-made plates and mugs from Terrain are so pretty with your MKC plates as chargers. Love the colorful flowers from Trader Joe’s. ReplyDeleteRicki Jill, this table is full of inspiration for using my personal pieces of MKC. Love the arrangement on the tray. I will definitely be a "copycat" and fill a breakfast tray with my honey pot, jam jar, vase, and tea bags in my small baker. How special it all looks together! I'm expecting house guests later this month, so will use this idea for my breakfasts. Love the plum pumpkins! Also all the linens, especially the ruffled plaid ones under your plate stack. Who makes those? Happy Autumn, dear friend!

ReplyDeleteI just got plumb excited Ricki Jill when I saw the plum on your table. I have always admired your MKC collection not only on your table but I have to confess I always take a sneaky peak at your sideboard cabinet too. You have so many interesting pieces and how clever of you to include a condiment tray for breakfast! The colors are amazing and I know you must have a story to tell concerning each unique piece. You are right the colors look good with your yellow walls. Isn't Trader Joes just a trove house of flowers and so reasonable too. It is always a pleasure to hop along with you.
ReplyDeleteWow, Ricky Jill, your use of color combinations and pattern is outstanding!. The plates and mugs and the accompanying plaid napkins are just beautiful together. Combining those with your center tray and all of your Mackenzie Childs items, it really truly makes a beautiful fall table. I love the use of plum and wine for fall. I wish we had a Terrain and Green Row here in my town, but each time I see you use their items, it makes me want to explore their online access. Having a Trader Joe's would also be nice. Your flowers are beautiful . Thank you for bringing your artistic eye once again to the table top and participating in this blog hop. Happy September!
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy seeing how you blend other pieces with M-C dishes and this is not a color I would ever had thought of - but it looks lovely! I adore the pumpkins! And i love your tray of special pieces!! I always wanted the jam jar and spoon!! Someday, maybe....Happy Fall

Your botanical plates and mugs paired with the MacKenzie-Childs chargers make such a pretty and colourful place setting, especially with those ruffled plaid napkins. I also love that you set the table for breakfast—the little tray with the honey, jam and tea pieces makes it feel so welcoming and ready for a cozy fall morning. And those plum pumpkins are simply fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThe first thing you notice is that wonderful, rich plum color which sets the tone for the entire tablescape. It's a perfect choice for pairing with all your beautiful Mackenzie Childs items. It's a real "feast for the eyes". I really liked your lovely table runner with pops of blues and purples in a neutral background. It's a lovely background for your centerpiece and allows the pieces to shine. The flowers are lovely and add that organic element to the table in fabulous color.

Oh my Ricki Jill. Those plum pumpkins are stunning on the Welsh cabinet and as backdrop to your table. They look lovely with the soft yellow of the walls. I love those Terrain botanical salad plates and Green Row plaid ruffled napkins on the MKC plates used a chargers. The runner is so pretty with all the shades of blue, green, and purple flowers. The matching mugs are so pretty and perfect for tea. The breakfast tray is darling with all your sweet MKC items and the flowers in the vase are so vibrant - oh to have a Trader Joes here! Enjoy your breakfast at your beautiful table with the morning sun streaming in! Happy September to you!
