Star Anise Wreath

Tuesday, December 15, 2020

Happy Tuesday, My Lovelies!

I have been making a few fun Christmas crafts, and this is one I thought was simple, but I had trouble with my hot glue gun.  It's jank....but if your glue gun is in good working order, then you should be fine.

This is what you'll need for this craft:

Thin florist's wire
Star anise
ribbon
wire cutter
scissors
hot glue gun

You probably have these things already...

Directions:

1.   Make loops of wire about 3 1/2 " in diameter. (The first time I tried to make this I made the loops too large.)  Here's a trick:  a 22 oz. can from your pantry is a good tool to use.  Simply wrap the wire around the jar for the perfect loops!  Three full loops should do the trick.  Twist the ends around the wire to secure.

2.   Hot glue the anise on the wire at varied intervals.

3.   Tie a length of Christmas ribbon on it and hang it from a closet door, hook, or in front of a mirror.

I hung mine from a picture frame with hooks by our kitchen door.

I like the star shapes because they remind me of the Star of Bethlehem.  Did you know that we will be able to see the rare Christmas Star this year on December 21st?  This event is bringing hope to people, and it is quite a rare phenomenon.

This little craft is also in the book Scandi Christmas by Christiane Bellstedt Myers.

I hope you are enjoying my Advent posts.  I am intentionally keeping them simple this year.

Until next time...
