Comfort in the Fog

Monday, July 6, 2015

Happy Monday!  I hope my American readers had a wonderful Independence Day weekend. Although we had several storms, the sun did break through from time to time, so it wasn't a complete washout.

Recently we attended an art show, and I met a creative artist named Henrik Søderstrøm.  He was our favorite artist at the show, and we bought two of his small mixed media paintings from a series of paintings depicting fog, water, water vessels, and the sound of buoy bells.

Do you see the orange, blue, and gold bars in the paintings?  They represent the sound of the buoy bells.

Aren't both lovely!  I do love that sound, too, and I find it a comfort just like Henrik.

And since it's Musical Monday, here's a laky song from one of my favorite bands.

  1. Those paintings capture the look and feel of fog, harbors, and boats. The painter has a gift. Glad you told me what those color bars are for.

  2. Beautiful paintings! You are lucky to have bought them. We had a local art show here recently, and I really loved quite a few pieces. I didn't buy them, but they were beautiful.

  3. They almost convey all 5 senses then, don't they? If you count the water drops on your lips?

    They are lovely.
