Summer Reading List 2015

Friday, June 5, 2015

Happy Literary Friday, My Lovelies!

Ah, the weekend….time to relax and (hopefully) read a book or two….YAY!

After a school year of reading mostly books on my daughter's reading list, I cannot wait to get started with my summer reading this weekend.  :D

Here's a look-see at what I'll be reading:

Can you judge a book by its cover?  In this case I hope so!

I've wanted to read this one for a long time

Her books are nice lake reads

Shelley has also chosen this one for summer reading

This is my book club's selection for summer

Katherine Howe is one of my favorite writers

Holly Black is very popular YA writer

A birthday gift from my daughter Shanley Belle

He also wrote The Remains of the Day

LOVED The Rosie Project!

Super writer

This one just looks good…

Written by the lovely Nana Diana!

A baker's dozen books….usually I only read 8 - 10 during the summer. This list is a bit ambitious, but what's wrong with aiming a little higher?

What's on your summer reading list?

Until next time…

Happy {summer} reading!

  1. The looks like great! I just finished "The Storied Life of A J Vickery" and adored it. Btw.. I haven't read Elizabeth Berg in years. BTW... I always judge a book by its cover! Enjoy your weekend.

  5. That is quite the list to read over the summer. Glad to see you back blogging. Congrats to your daughters on finishing their school years, and to the graduate who did an amazing job. I'm just finishing up a series of about 18 book by Donna Andrews. I've got a few picked out for the summer and will see if they are all readily available from the library. Enjoy the weekend.

  6. I loved The Rosie Project and the Rosie Effect. I agree, the cover of that first book is darling. I am reading the 6 novels in Anthony Trollope's Chronicles of Barchester, the first one is The Warden (about a church warden/minister in England in the 1850s) and I am reading the fourth one now Framley Parsonage. If you like Jane Austen you would probably like this series.

  7. I've been reading even more since it's been hot and there do seem to be so many great new books lately. I love your list and have Diana's book right here on my coffee table. I'm glad to see you posting and hope you'll do literary Friday again. I'll do a post on books for next Friday! Happy reading sweet friend. Hugs Diane

  8. Good list! I need to catch up. My hands are too sore to do much more of this manual labor thing. I loved THE GOLDFINCH, and I have always enjoyed Elizabeth Berg. I should make a list of that pile I have waiting on me -- I might actually finish them.

  9. Great list! I've written down the names of 4 of them for a start including the Elizabeth Berg book that I've somehow missed.

    Happy reading!

  10. Thanks for the list. I've not been reading much lately and need to get back into some good books. I read the Gold Finch. I was personally disappointed in it and wondered why it was a Pulitzer Prize winner. Will be interested to hear your take on it.
Have a fun summer with lots of leisure time to read!

  14. I've always enjoyed seeing book suggestions, and this one has several that have peaked my interest. Thank you! I have been so out-of-the-loop since our trip and not very good at keeping up with blogs, even my faves. I didn't even know that Diana had written a book, but I've already ordered it and sent her my apologies and congratulations.

  15. The Canterbury Sisters is on my list, too! :)
A lot of those are books I've heard great things about- have a lovely time reading! Even if you fail to read all of those books, reading by itself is a win, so you can't go wrong.
