{Maybe not really the breakfast of champions, however Smoothies are healthy and yummy!}
During the hot summer months, I like to drink smoothies for either breakfast or lunch. Smoothies are quick, healthy, and cold. Here are two of my favorite recipes for breakfast smoothies.
Best Breakfast Smoothie
Ingredients:
3/4 cup Greek style yogurt (I like to use the honey flavored yogurt)
1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
1/2 banana
1 tablespoon honey
1 cup crushed ice
Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth.
*Note: One of my daughters who loves Greek yogurt prefers plain yogurt in smoothies.*
Nutty Raspberry Smoothie
Ingredients:
3/4 cup low-fat milk
3/4 cup frozen raspberries
1/2 banana
1 tablespoon natural almond or peanut butter (I like The Bee's Knees PB by Peanut Butter & Co.)
1 tablespoon agave nectar
Directions
Place the milk, raspberries, banana, peanut butter, and agave nectar in a blender.
Blend until smooth and frothy.
This recipe is very good with the almond butter, too.

ReplyDeletethese sound delish. I love smoothies! I can see why she prefers regular yoghurt-the greek is a bit thick. I have to try that though.
ReplyDeleteHi Ricki...saw your link at Us and Them. These look so refreshing. I'm not a fan of greek yogurt so I'm glad you added that plain yogurt is fine. Our home grown strawberries should be out soon...can't wait to try this. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThey look delicious! I have a smoothie machine that does not get a lot of use {it's really a glorified blender}. Time to give it a work out! Thanks for the recipes!

We need to make some smoothies. Haven't done that in forever! I have never heard of Greek yogurt. I just asked my husband and he said he loved it. I will have to save this recipe. :)

ReplyDeletesmoothies are one of my favorite breakfasts. I use 1 cup vanilla unsweetened almond milk, one banana, 1 container of flavored greek yogurt, 1 TB golden ground flaxseed, 1 TB chia seed. If I know I am going to be gone for a while I will also add the 1 scoop of a spoon of almond butter. I am enjoying your blog, thank you
