My Happy List #6

Saturday, April 2, 2011

My happy list is short and sweet this week.

1.   Mr. Art@Home, Shelley, and I are at the lake.  Look at the level of the lake water as we look from our front porch.  Perfect!  Notice the blue above the trees?  Blue sky and sunshine: something we have not seen all week!

2.   I don't know what it looks like where you live, but this year the dogwoods are beautiful in Central Alabama.  We have four dogwood trees in our yard here at Lake Martin.

Beautiful!!!

3.   I actually see signs of life on our Crepe Myrtles after they had been Crepe Murdered.  We pay an association fee here, so we don't do our own yardwork (we are not alowed).  I guess the Home Owners' Association wants everyone's Crepe Myrtles killed trimmed in a consistent fashion.

4.   I bought these canisters from Mod Cloth, and I love them.  Mr. Art@Home bought a second set to have here at the lake.  *squee*  Now I don't have to keep my sugar and flour in ziplock bags in the fridge.

5.   PG Tips, England's #1 tea, makes me happy!  I am like Annie on BBC America's Being Human:  I make tea all day long.  There are twenty mugs all over our house by the end of the day; our house looks like Annie lives here!  I switch to coffee in the evenings because I love dessert coffees, and y'all know all about that obsession of mine!!!

6.   Sarah Addison Allen's books make me *extremely* happy.  I do not check these out from the library.  No way, Jose, because I re-read these.  My favorite one is The Sugar Queen, and my daughter's favorite is Garden Spells.  But all of them are fan-freakin-tastic. You can read a recent review of The Girl Who Chased the Moon here.   I am reading her latest this morning, The Peach Keeper,  while Mr. Art@Home watches Hot Rod TV and Shelley sleeps.  (It is very early here still).

As usual, I am joining the Super-Fun Mamarazzi @ Dandelion Wishes for her My Happy List Linky Party.

Until next time...

  4. One more author (and set of books) added to my list. :)
Those dogwoods look gorgeous! I'm envious. Our cherry trees were blooming, but a recent strong wind stripped them of blossoms so we're back to bare branches everywhere right now.

Yay for tea! When I'm sick, I'm the same way- it's tea, constantly. :D
    Happy weekend!

  11. I love the view of the lake and the park. You are so lucky to have this view. Not everyone who lives in the city are lucky to enjoy this breath taking and refreshing view. I wish you more happiness!

  12. Hi Ricki! Thanks for stopping by to visit my azaleas at my "My New 30" blog!

How lucky you are to have a house on the lake and the view from your porch is so peaceful. I'm fascinated that the association actually DOES the yard stuff. Most people who have crepe myrtles trim them out that way so I'm sure it will be gorgeous. I have one in my yard, but I just let it go free form & never cut it. The dogwoods are gorgeous too - I love those! I have tried to grow those in my yard but they never make it. I think the coastal heat down here in Miss. is too much for them to be honest. Thanks again for stopping by - need to check out that author too. Just the cover draws me in!!

    Have a beautiful Sunday!
