My Happy List #1

Saturday, February 12, 2011

I am a happy camper this morning.  Here's why:

1.   My doctor released me (finally) last week after having surgery in December!

2.   My eldest daughter (18) attends an arts high school.  She is taking a book binding class today for fun and....wait for it....to meet cute guys.  Bless her heart!  My husband and I have been laughing all morning:

"Chad!  I must dash off from rugby practice because I have a book binding class!"

"Enjoy yourself, Brad!"

Yea.  Right.

3.   We are getting new neighbors!  *squee*  I have heard about them, but have yet to meet them.

Yep!  I was having a Mrs. Kravitz moment earlier!

3.   Cheese straws!

Important snackage for enjoying these:

4.   New books!

I feel so guilty because all three of these highly anticipated books were released February 8th. No more books for me until April, when Cassandra Clare's City of Fallen Angels is released; (any Simon fans out there)?

Which book shall I read first?  Decisions, decisions!

5.   While eldest daughter is at class, hubbie is going to the lake.  Youngest daughter will be playing with friends because of the nicer weather we are having.

This is the only bit of snow we have left (my poor camellias).

6.   ...Which leaves me some free time to work on this:

7.   While enjoying this yummy-smelling candle hubbie bought me from Anthropologie.  It is the "Santorini Fig" fragrance.  My house will be smelling lovely!

  3. I applaud your daughters willingness to meet boys in then not so typical place. I wish her luck!

The fact that I haven't seen any snow, other than while vacationing, in almost 18 years makes me very happY!

  4. I can't help it- I giggled out loud at your daughter. That is brilliant! :D

At an arts school, though...maybe the hot guys ARE in book binding...I'm pretty sure I'd be impressed with anyone who knows that skill, and talent is fairly attractive. ;)

Good luck with the new neighbors! I hope they're amazing.

Also, please do share how you like "A Discovery of Witches"! I have been eyeing that one as a potential future buy, but since it was just released, I haven't read any reviews on it and have no idea if it's as good as it's hyped to be. :)
