MacKenzie-Childs Barn Sale Purchases

P1040876

I want to share with you what we bought at the MacKenzie-Childs Barn Sale.  :D  I mostly bought pieces that I would use often.

I use ramekins all the time, and I bought these six ramekins in the Piccadilly pattern.  I am really enjoying this rather new pattern from MacKenzie-Childs!

I bought the Piccadilly mixing bowls.  I wish I had chosen a few serving bowls when we married, but instead I chose too many platters.  I decided on the bowl because they can be used for mixing and serving.  Plus they are much less expensive than the large and medium serving bowls.

I had the smaller bowls already.  I love how they nest together!

P1040888

I bought several flower pots because I do use them all over our home, and they are being discontinued.

I bought the three little mini roses at the grocery store for $9!

P1040891-1

I bought the jam jar and the Taylor petite pitcher in Odd Fellows pattern for our breakfast table.  We will use these most days!  I also bought the jam spoon from their compliments line.

I could not resist this pie bird.

I collect the MacKenzie-Childs double drop Christmas ornaments, plus I also collect a few random ornaments, too.  The sale did not have any of the double drop ornaments, so I purchased the Piccadilly pie plate with pie bird ornament because I bought so many Piccadilly pieces.

I also bought Shelley a purse, and Shanley a tea set, vase, and mug for her apartment.  I bought my mom a really cute piece for her birthday, too, but she won't open it until Wednesday!

Most pieces I bought were 75- 80% off.  We spent less than we budgeted for, so Mr. Art @ Home was pleased about that!  I was advised to have a wish list and stick to it because the sale can be overwhelming.  I did get everything on my wish list but the Frank and Mustard Torquay sconce. I could not find it at the sale!  We want one for our powder room, so maybe if they go on sale we can eventually get one.

Until next time...

Blessings!
Ricki Jill

  1. Oh, I think you made some fabulous choices. I'm a fan of the Piccadilly series and have several pieces. I started with the Taylor series so that's what my plates are. I've so enjoyed seeing all the photos you've shared from our trip. What a delightful road trip. I may just plan to do this myself. At 77-80% off it would be worth a drive even from TX. LOL
I've long wanted one of the little pie birdies, and I'd definitely would have brought one of these home. Adore the little ornament too. You and I have the same taste when it comes to McK-C. Thanks for the email.

  3. Fabulous pieces RJ! I love the pie bird but the little mustard pot and pitcher along with the three little pots are my favorites. My problem with going to a sale like this is I get so overwhelmed. You were smart to have a list but I don't know how in the world you stuck to it!
I know you and your family will enjoy these beautiful new additions.

  4. Hi...I enjoyed reading all of your posts! It certainly was a fun time and there were many treasures to be found! I had a list, worked the sale for 2 days, and still was overwhelmed when I shopped! Prices were a little higher this year, but I got most on my wish list! The leftover inventory is amazing - and it all goes into storage til next year (that's a warehouse I would like to "play" in)
I'll be back to visit soon! Thanks for visiting Pandora's Box!

  5. You chose such beautiful pieces! I love the jam jar & pitcher. I also love the fact that you actually use these pieces. They are so beautiful, I don't know that I could actually use them. (I know, I'm weird).

  7. YOu did so well. I love your roses lined up in the pretty painted pots that coordinate, but don't match. I take it your mixing bowls are the same - similar, but not matching. I've never seen these before I started reading your blog so I now associate them with you.
