My favorite harbinger of autumn is the honey crisp apple. When they become available I know that autumn is here! These are my very favorite apples in the world.
Everywhere I visit on the blogsphere there is talk of Autumn and as much as I love all your posts Ricki Jill I am so not ready for autumn. Lovely photo of your apples, we have been enjoying ours fresh from the tree for a few weeks now, although it still is summer with temps of 30C. Storms forecast for tomorrow and monday though so I am off to enjoy the sun with my book in the garden now. Have a good weekend my friend.
Love a fresh, crisp apple! I also love the fall color of tree leaves and the sound of crunching leaves when walking on a sidewalk. Have a great weekend! ~ Julie
Love the header! Oh I love the apples too, they smell so fresh and like fall to me. All your fall touches look great. We've been getting flower beds cleaned out and ready for fall with fresh pine straw. I always buy mums for the front for color and do something for the door. I am so ready for cool mornings of fall. Enjoy the game tonight.
I've been to the orchard twice so far for apples. I like Fujii variety but it's a little too early for them. I'll keep my eye out for a Honey Crisp. Just the name makes me want to eat it!

ReplyDeletepie pumpkins, ornage and gold leaves, braided garlic, the smell of chili sauce cooking on the stove and the smell of wood smoke from the fireplace.
ReplyDeleteHoney crisps are my favorite apples also. I love butternut squash and pumpkin -- but the taste and smell of cinnamon take me over the edge. Love it!
ReplyDeleteCrisp apples, the smell of cinnamon, the cold morning air, pumpkins and the leaves that coat the ground. I absolutely LOVE fall!
ReplyDeleteOh yes! I completely agree! We grow quite a few apple trees in our garden and I absolutely love the first day they're ready. Yum!!

Oh yes! I love Macintosh apples, locally grown. Nothing like that sweet/tart taste of Autumn.
