A Study in Textures

We have lots of textures on our sofa table:

Pine, leaded glass, salvaged wood, wicker, seagrass, barbed wire, metal flowers, and chippy paint.

Mr. Art@Home made me a lamp out of a slice of an ancient sixteenth century beam that was salvaged from a barn in Southern England.  You can see the ax cuts on it.  He added the seagrass shade for summer.  I married a rock star!  :D  Don't you just love my Time for Tea print from Trisha Brink Design? It is always time for tea around here!

Your room is so sunny , bright and beautiful!

I don't have a sofa right now!!! We curl up on chairs to watch movies :( !! We sold our sofa before we moved and have yet to replace it. In the meantime my antique ironing board is my mock sofa table :) !!

  3. I love your lamp and how sweet it is your hubby made it for you! Your sofa table is lovely and so is your room. Isn't it nice how we can visit with each other - I love looking at other peoples homes. I don't have a sofa table (rooms aren't big enough for one shucks) but we have two danish wall units in our family room that are loaded with books, DVDs and magazines. Next year we hope to fix up that room...we need new carpeting and new furniture. We also would like to put a new wall unit up that covers the whole wall with storage for DVDs (...in drawers). And I want to hang the big screen TV on the wall. That's my wish list...ha!

  6. OK.... I LOVE !!!!!!!! your house !!!!!!!
Your kitchen in MY dream kitchen. I saved the PIC of your kitchen as "dream kitchen" to show my husband, so when that "some day" when we have the money to re-do our kitchen, that is what I want it to look like !!!!!!

  9. Happy birthday. Just catching up on my blog reading so I'm a bit behind.

That is the most amazing lamp - gorgeous and so wonderful that hubby made it for you. How ever did he get such an old piece of wood?
