Mr. Art@Home: HGTV's New Design Star?

Sunday, April 3, 2011

{Probably.  Not.}

Mr. Art@Home is very proud of his latest contributions to the lake cabin.  He found this old Catalina wooden water ski in the trash.  Yep.  The trash.  He took it out and polished it (after I Tilexed it, of course).  Then he bought some cute white hooks from At Home in Homewood, Alabama.

Mr. Art@Home loves ceiling fans in bathrooms, especially in the hot, humid air here at Lake Martin. He calls this the Rad Fan.  Whatever.

These final two projects were more time consuming.  I do like the mirror Mr. Art@Home made from a local company's pine called River Bottom Pine.  The pine came from the bottom of Mobile Bay, and it was submerged at least 200 years.  He actually used tongue-in-groove flooring and a router to make the mirror (and I really do like it).  The light fixture.... *sighs and shakes head* ...... Mr Art@Home used a knee board and a light fixture from The Home Depot to build this statement piece. This is the only full bath we have in our tiny cabin.

He is so proud!  Please show him your love of his *clears throat* "efforts" to "Jack-Up" our lake cabin. I promise I will share all comments with Mr. Art@Home.

Until next time...

Blessings!

  8. Dear Ricki, it is always a pleasure to read your post ... we share the principle that "things" should be able to get a second chance ... a third ... .. maybe a fourth one..something is born to believe only one thing and then you end up doing something else.. and then something else ... maybe it does not happen to us??Hugs,Annalisa

  15. I like that your hubby is an individual and expresses himself in his creations at the cottage. I love the mirror frame and the wooden water ski - I've considered doing something similar with a paddle.
