My thirteen year old loves the Nickelodeon television show iCarly.  Spencer, Carly's brother, cooks spaghetti tacos for Carly and her friends, Freddy and Sam.  My daughter, Shelley, has been begging for me cook her spaghetti tacos for dinner, so I thought....why not?!?!?

iCarly Spaghetti Tacos

1 lb. ground beef
1 lb. pkg. Lite Velveeta
1 jar spaghetti sauce (I like Newman's Own 5 Cheese or Classico 4 Cheese)
8 oz. bag mozzarella cheese
12 oz. bag spaghetti
Package taco shells

1.   Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2.   Butter 9" X 13" casserole.

3.   Brown ground beef and cook spaghetti according to package instructions.  Drain both.

4.   Line bottom of casserole dish with half of the Velveeta.  I usually cut it into 1/8" pieces.

5.   Put cooked spaghetti on cheese.

6.   Cover spaghetti with cooked beef.

7.   Pour jar of spaghetti sauce over beef.

8.   Top with the other half of the sliced Velveeta and then top with mozzarella.

9.   Bake for forty minutes.  Remove from oven, and let sit five minutes.

  3. Love, love, love this idea! My boys like iCarly too but I have never heard of spaghetti tacos! I think the next time they have friends over I'm going to make this (I just don't think the 4 of us could eat all of this!)

  4. I love your painting of your kitchen. Last time I saw it I didn't notice the westie and scottie on the dish towel until after I had already commented. CUTE! Do they have recipes on icarly? I've never heard of spaghetti tacos either. I'm sure all kids would love this dish.

  5. Interesting fusion food. I can't say it would be my first thought to put those two foods together, but I bet they tasted good.
