Our Christmas Tree

Thursday, December 9, 2010

We have a small artificial tree we put right in the middle of our kitchen and keeping room. We like it there because that is where we spend most of our time while we're home.

Our tree is a little bit girly because there are three girls (four if you count our Westie, Bonnie) in our family.  You will find many pink ornaments as well as ribbons on our tree.

We do not have a theme for our tree, but we have a Christmas tradition I started when my oldest daughter, Shanley Belle, was two years old.  Every Christmas Eve Eve (December 23), I take my daughters out to lunch.  Then we go Christmas ornament shopping.  Each of us buys one ornament, and we take our time until we find the perfect one.  It is my plan to give each daughter her ornaments when she has a home of her own.

Some of the selections have been interesting to say the least over the years!

Do you have a theme for your Christmas tree or any fun Christmas tree traditions?

I will be joining Sarah's Christmas tree linky party over at Thrifty Decor Chick.  Julia is also hosting a linky party at Hooked on Houses, and so is Cielo at her weekly blog party, Show Off Your Cottage Monday.   Will you join us?

Until next time...

Christmas blessings!

  1. I'm all about traditions...my kids pick out a new ornament every year too. Our tree is mostly decorated by them. Cute tree by the way!

  2. What an awesome tree!! So colorful.
I loved hearing about your Christmas tradition of buying ornaments on Christmas Eve Eve. I'm sure that's something your children will cherish forever.
I'm not big on themed Christmas trees. I prefer a Christmas tree that is full of memories!
By the way, that bow on the top of your tree that drapes down is gorgeous!
