Hello, My Lovelies!
Welcome to the Valentine's Day Tablescape Blog Hop hosted by the very sweet Rita @ Panoply!

Thank-you so much for hosting!

Today I'm sharing not only a Valentine's Day tablescape with y'all, I'm also sharing a Valentine's Day tradition.  Since our daughters were little, I've always planned a nice breakfast because the girls wanted their Valentine's Day goodies before they left for the bus stop.  I would wake-up super-early, cook a fun, Valentine's Day themed breakfast, and have their Valentines by their plates on the breakfast bar.

Although only one daughter is still at home, and she leaves for work at 4:30 AM, I still keep the tradition going for Mr. Bookish and me.  Mr. Bookish often has early cases, so the breakfast will be very simple, yet festive.  First, let's take a look at how I've decorated:

I chose blue elements because blue is Mr. Bookish's favorite color.  The heart serving tray is for the muffins.

I set-up the tablescape on the far end of the dining room table, close to the windows.  I'm hopeful it will be a warmer, sunny morning on Valentine's Day!

The Tea for Two set ties together the blues and reds:

I found the roses at the grocery store, and I loved the deep crimson edges.

I will replace the roses for Valentine's Day, and I will probably choose red ones.

I chose the toast rack and milk jug because of the blue letters.

Resources:
Nothing is new on the table other than the flowers.
Rectangular heart platter: Williams Sonoma
Tea for Two tea set:  Anthropologie
Plates:  Royal Stafford
Ceramic hearts:  White Flowers
Wooden heart:  Longaberger
Heart placemats:  Vintage
Table runner and napkins: Shabby Chic
Toast rack and milk jug:  Keith Brymer Jones pottery
Blue flower frog:  Etsy
White thistle vases and King Ferry flower frog:  Mackenzie-Childs
Glittery berry trees:  Leaf 'n Petal
Hurricane:  Pier1
Honeypot:  Waterford Lismore

Let's open up the menu and check it out:

Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter for heart-shaped toast.
I'll be serving cinnamon toast because Mr. Bookish loves it, but a red fruit jam is also a good option for Valentine's Day.

Yesterday, I posted a wonderful, low sugar chocolate zucchini muffin recipe.  They can be baked ahead of time because they rewarm in the microwave very well.

{I never said this could be done well.}

I raided my MacKenzie-Childs collection for flower frogs and candlesticks.  I placed Pier 1 red candles in the candlesticks, roses in one of the flower frogs, and then I added some mercury glass votives and tea lights.

I will add fresh holly and magnolia leaves closer to Christmas.

Here is my mantel from last year.  The snow got on my very last nerve because I was constantly having to vacuum.  You can read last year's post here.

My Happy List is all about Retail Therapy!!!  I do not like to shop.  I do not have the patience for it.  But every once in a while, I like to shop for fun things.

My Happy List

1.   I found the neatest box of stationary.  It is so girly, and I bet you can guess who will receive a majority of these cars.  Yep!  My daughter away at college.  Pretty stationary makes me happy!

2.   I have not bought any MacKenzie-Childs in a while.  I recently bought a new piece at a local store, and an older, discontinued piece from Ebay. Collecting MacKenzie-Childs has been fun, and finding new pieces makes me very happy!  I will use this spoon rest every day while I cook.

3.   This is the Ebay find, a lovely, discontinued MacKenzie-Childs flower frog. Flower frogs make me happy!  I did a post about flower flogs that you can read here.

Have you found any treasures on Ebay lately?  Don't forget to share your happy with Mamarazzi today.

Until next time...

While I was reading the April, 2011 issue of Country Living Magazine, I read an interesting feature for using flower frogs to hold make-up brushes.

So I started thinking....maybe flower frogs could be used for organization in our art studio.  The following images are from Better Homes and Gardens Magazine.

Here is my very favorite flower frog from MacKenzie-Childs.  It would be great for drying brushes...

...or I could simply use it for its original intent.

I bought the frog at the top of this post.  I will probably use it as a brush dryer for the studio, and continue to use the MacKenzie-Childs frog for flowers and potpourri.

Do you have any inventive uses for flower frogs?
