...because the real ones were rotting...
Happy Tuesday, My Lovelies! Do you remember this centerpiece (below) I created?
Well...it rotted. It was ugly. And it smelled!
Lovelies, I have no idea what went wrong; this isn't my first time at the rodeo. I have had real pumpkins and squash in our home during the autumn season for years, for almost all of the thirty-four years we've been married.
WTH?
So I decided to gather all my Hot Skwash together, and I even bought a few little ones to add to the centerpiece. I also changed the runner to something a bit more fall-ish. The other one had lots of orange in it, but I was afraid that it stank, too, so I washed it.
I chose pumpkins to match the runner and the MacKenzie-Childs olive server.
I also chose the other Mackenzie-Childs pieces to match the table runner.
I've had this table runner for many years, and I still love it!
I like the crocheted elements and the colors.
Someone keeps rearranging the pumpkins. I wonder who's doing that?
I love the colors of the carnations. They match the flowers in the table runner perfectly.
While writing this post I learned that the National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for our area. This gives me itchy armpits, y'all...
Moving on...
I also bought some croton plants to bring fall color inside our home:
Do you like crotons? Do you like to display them this time of year?
That's about all I have for today. I'm just waiting around to see if we're having our book club meeting tonight. It might be postponed due to the expected inclement weather.
Until next time...
Blessings!
Ricki Jill
I love all of your velvet pumpkins! Your table runner is so pretty and perfect for autumn - enjoy the last week of Oct
ReplyDeleteI have been using faux pumpkins inside for the last few years. It is easier for me..lol. Your table runner is FUN! I have never seen one like it. Enjoy your day and praying no tornadoes come your way. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your faux pumpkins. I LOVE the table-runner. I want it. ;-)
ReplyDeletePraying you do not have any bad weather!
That's super odd. Those little pumpkins usually hand in for quite some time! But your second look is just as darling as the first!
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable runner! Love the skwash pumpkins too. I have many (similar) for my fall stash. I don't have crotons, but I love seeing neighbors who do, especially how they stand out in fall!
ReplyDeleteYour velvet pumpkins are so pretty, love the colors! I can't believe your pumpkins rotted inside!! I did a bleach water wash on my patio pumpkins and so far so good! Your rooster runner is super cute!
