Mardi Gras Decor

Thursday, February 17, 2022

Happy Thursday, My Lovelies!  Tuesday and yesterday I decorated a little bit for Mardi Gras after having taken all winter and Valentine's Day decorations down.  I'm over winter, and more than ready for spring!

First, I decorated my MacKenzie-Childs flower press work table.  I use this table for arranging flowers, wrapping presents, and other projects.

I'm featuring the MacKenzie-Childs Taylor Petite Pitcher and the Bazaar Coffee Pot because they have the Mardi Gras colors of purple, green and gold.
I've also added three Moroccan iced tea glasses, and I placed tea lights in them.

This is a Mardi Gras book stack.  I enjoy decorating with books!

Our dining room seems very pared-down.  I only have plates on the Welsh Dresser, and nothing on the sideboard.  The table is decorated very simply for Mardi Gras.
Photos are always terrible from this angle...sorry!

My sister-in-law made me this runner several years ago.

I added a purple and yellow primrose.  The print on the fabric are all words and phrases original to New Orleans.

The crown contains an etched tea light holder.

It says "Fleurs" on it, which is French for flowers.

I think I like the simplicity of the dining room for the time being.  I will go all out for Easter, probably.

What have you been up to?  I hope you're doing lots of fun things...

Until next time...

Blessings!
Ricki Jill

  2. That is super cute and regionally festive! Our area doesn't celebrate so much Mardi Gras, so I moved right onto St Patrick's Day! I am also over winter and ready for spring! I have Easter bunnies lurking in the closet, waiting to hop out right after St. Patrick's Day!

  4. Very Mardi Gras festive RJ! I love the Moroccan tea glasses, so pretty! I have been putting away winter too, I'm so ready for Spring, but don't like the tornadoes that come with it! Keep cozy today, I'm headed to the beach house for the long weekend...
