Whiteout

Thursday, December 9, 2021

Hello, My Lovelies!  Can you believe we experienced whiteout conditions in Central Alabama?  We didn't....only I did recently at a very fun ECW event at church.

Artist Shannon Harris from The Grace Gallery led us in a fun art class where we had the choice of creating angels, crosses or winter trees.  Everyone had such a great time, and the works of art were all beautiful!

Sweet friends and their art

I decided to paint trees, and I kept them neutral and painted the background white, like a winter snowstorm.

Playing with glitter is fun, I'm not gonna lie...

I used silver and light blue glitter for an icy effect.  The little tree one has a silver background.

This is the first ECW event since COVID.  I'm thrilled I was able to attend!

Today's Advent Chrismon

Seven-pointed crown
Jesus is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  He sits at the place of honor at the right-hand of God.  The seven points represent completeness and perfection.

I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.
Revelation 3:11

Today's scripture:

Joseph Accepts Jesus as His Son

This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit.  Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.

But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.  She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”

Matthew 1:18-21

The art studio's Advent calendar is filling up fast.
(from yesterday)

Until next time...

Blessings!

  4. I think I might like these as much or more as anything you've ever done just for the freedom of the brush stroke and the wintry feeling they bring. Absolutely lovely and inspiring, RJ.
