Clipboard Organizer

Thursday, February 4, 2021

Happy Thursday, Lovelies!  Today I'm sharing a darling craft provided by my local library.  During COVID, we haven't been able to meet in person, so our sweet, intrepid librarians put together craft kits for curbside pick-up for library patrons.

You might remember December's craft: the ribbon Christmas tree ornament, below:

For this craft, you will need:

Clipboard, Mod Podge glue, stiff brush, three to four pieces of craft paper, sharp scissors, and a pencil

Directions:

1.   First cover the back of your clipboard.  Trace the clipboard onto the paper and cut out.  TIP: Cut a little inside your line, and it should fit perfectly.  If your paper isn't quite long enough, use some of the excess and fill-in at the bottom.  Spread the Mod Podge with a paint brush in a thin layer over the back of the clipboard and apply the paper.  Starting in the middle, smooth outward to get out all the air bubbles and wrinkles.

2.   Next, cover the front of the clipboard.  Follow the same steps used for the back, tracing and cutting out.  No need to make the paper reach the bottom because the pocket will cover it.  Make sure when you trace that you trace starting at the top!  Cut an upside down T shape into the top about one inch down, so it will fit around the clip.  Smooth the paper up to and around the clip, and use your pencil to draw a line around the clip.  Next, cut the excess paper.  Use the Mod Podge to apply the paper.

This is what the upside down "T" looks like.

3.   For the pocket, choose the paper you want to use for the pocket and cut it to the width of the clipboard, and to a hight of 9".  Fold paper in half.  Take the leftover strip from cutting out the pocket and cut it in half.  These are the pieces needed for the accordion sides.  Accordion these two pieces at half inch intervals.  Insert them into the sides of the pocket and glue in place.  Then attach your pocket to the clipboard using Mod Podge.  Let dry, and then enjoy organizing!

I'm using my clipboard to organize tag journaling supplies.

If you need more detailed instructions, please visit this site.  It's a blog, and I think it's super-cool that our librarians read blogs!

Will you make one of these?  What would you use it for?

Until next time...

Blessings!
Ricki Jill

I might make one for my garden shed, it would be cute and helpful with seed packs.

  8. Well that is adorable and I would love to make one, but can't decide what I would use it for. Maybe just something to look at and smile is enough!
