Current Projects

Happy Thursday Evening, My Lovelies!  I thought I'd pop in and tell you a few of the projects I'm currently working on.  I've been filling our home the past month with the moon carnations (see above).  I love all the shades of purple they come in, and they aren't expensive.  Mr. Bookish asked me why I keep buying them, and when I'll change them.  I will next week because I don't think I'll be able to find them.  And I bought them (a lot) because they are so *pretty*

We've been working on several projects, like fixing windows, irrigation system, and other non-photogenic projects.  But we did install cabinets in our laundry room.  Before we had wire open shelving.  I like it so much better now!

Our laundry room is a tiny 6' X 7.5'.  Our home does not have a pantry, so we installed a cabinet several years ago.  You can see it on the right.

We installed pull-out shelves in the bottom half of the cabinet.  The top part has theater-style risers so we can see everything in the back.

This is my dream pantry.  I have no idea from whence this photo came, but I'd love to give credit if anyone knows.
Isn't this lovely!  No door needed.

I have been Christmas shopping, and I should have almost all of it done by Saturday.  After my art class this morning, I spent most of the rest of the afternoon shopping.  I'm spending some time tomorrow wrapping presents.  It was my goal to be done so I can enjoy upcoming festivities and events without having to worry about shopping.  I really don't like shopping: I never have.  I'm a very impatient shopper.

I haven't had time to read much, but I do have a winner in my Help Me Select a Christmas Book poll:

Thanks to everyone who voted.  I had a better response via email because apparently some of you have been having issues leaving comments.  I hope I have that fixed now, and I would appreciate it if you would email me should you have problems commenting.  Thanks in advance!

Finally, I've been spending a lot of time thinking about and planning for the upcoming Tablescape Blog Hop hosted by Rita @ Panoply.

Please join us on Tuesday!

What have you been up to lately?  I will be catching up with my blog friends this weekend.  It will be so nice....I'll steep a pot of tea, get cozy, and blog jog!

Until next time...

Blessings!
Ricki Jill

  1. The color of those carnations is simply regal. Purple always reminds me of my mother. It was her signature color. At her funeral mass, the monsignor even mentioned he wore his purple for her. O have a laundry very similar to yours, with open shelving. My first thoughts were wanting to have doors installed. It makes a world of difference. Cute hanging lamp, and I love those cabinets with pull out shelves.

  2. What a wonderful catch up. I love your pantry and laundry area. What a great job using the space. I love to be done by most holiday shopping by THanksgiving (and things mailed) but I'm not sure it's happening this year. I need to get on the stick. Thanks for the inspiration!

  3. My pantry is a nightmare! You have inspired me to neaten it up! Good for you on your Christmas shopping, I have done a lot too, with all the news about shortages...I even have bought our Christmas tree! It is due to arrive at Andy's Farm Market on Nov 18, we always get a large real tree every year, and usually go pick it out as a family, but this year they suggested ordering and paying in advance due to shortages, yikes! Have a cozy weekend!

  4. I want that dream pantry too. Love your pantry and I love the new cabinets to replace the open shelves. Your sweet knobs on the cabinet doors are amazing and sweet. Love it all. Have a great weekend. xoxo

  5. I love the color of those flowers and your laundry room is dreamy! Mine is in the basement. It's an unfinished area with no way to make it pretty since we need the pipes exposed. There are turn off valves etc. It's an awkward and ugly set up, but I've been dreaming up ways to remedy it for almost two decades. Apparently, none are practical!! Oh well, at least the clothes get clean! Enjoy the weekend.

I do like to wrap and decorate the packages. :-)
