Good Morning! How are my bloggy buddies today? I hope you're having a happy week so far, have posted about it, and will link-up!
My Happy List
1. I'm so excited about the Chaotic Goddesses Local Flavor Swap. I received my package from Salt Lake City today, and I can't wait to share with you in a future post all the wonderful surprises Miss Angie sent me! *squee*
Here's a little sneak-peek:
Salt water taffy....like three pounds of it!!! :D
I was thinking of a way to decorate the dining room table this week, and Miss Angie sent me my answer: a bowl of taffy on a linen runner.
It takes a really big bowl to hold three pounds of taffy!
Chaotic Goddess Swaps make me so happy!!!
2. I won our August book club selection book this month! I *heart* my online book club, If You Give A Blogger A Book....Club!!! Thanks so much, Connie!!!
Look how pretty Amy wrapped the package!
The dreamcatcher is hanging on her headboard.
I've been burning a summer candle today that smells like the beach: Pomelo & Sea Salt!
I scrubbed this cutting board table today, too!
5. Summer and sunshine has finally arrived in Central Alabama. It has been an unseasonably mild and VERY wet summer. I'm not ready for summer to be over because we didn't have much of one. But I'm not complaining, really. We aren't burning-up like the West, and we aren't suffering through a drought. Happy to see the sun, though!
Andrea is so thoughtful. She went to the beach and sent me this postcard. I really want a beach trip!
6. I finally got this book @ the library.....talk about a long waiting list!
I've made my family happy by cooking a couple of recipes from this book!
I will share a recipe and review of this fantastic book either tomorrow or Thursday, so stay tuned!
7. Y'all have made me very happy! Participation in my two weekly link parties have been pretty good! Thanks so much for supporting my link parties!!!
Until next time...
Blessings!
Ricki Jill
I'm going to work on my "Happy" post and will be back a little later to link up (hopefully).
ReplyDelete"Modern Hospitality" looks so good that I rushed right to my e-Library catalog to see if either library I visit has it yet. No luck...bummer. I just may have to purchase this one. I look forward to your book review. Thanks!
I love the happy list to put all the fun miscellaneous things going on in our lives. So glad you host this, RJ. The taffy is so pretty and colorful - too good to eat - eye candy haha. This was my first swap with the Goddess and it was so much fun! I'll have to look into the blogger book club - maybe it would help me to read! It's something I don't take the time to do. The dreamcatcher looks awesome with the shabby headboard - good job! I just love your happy list!
ReplyDeleteI was at school working the Welcome Desk when I got the text that your book had arrived! I almost squealed with delight!
ReplyDeleteI adore Salt Water Taffy! The kids and I bought a ton of it in San Francisco.
I am so so so glad that it worked out for you! I had all of these littler things, but they were too much for the small box I had, so I had to update and I thought a giant bag of taffy would make a nice addition! Haha!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to finally be taking party in this link-up!! My first time! :) That bowl of taffy looks so colourful - I love it!! And I'm adding The Aviator's Wife to my reading "wishlist"!! :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great day, Ricki Jill!!
RJ,
ReplyDeleteJust reading your happy list makes me happy. Thanks for sharing.

So happy to be here at the Happy List party with such great hostess as you are dear Ricki Jill. I love that gorgeous centerpiece bowl, I always admire it when I see it in your house! The book sounds like a great read, I'm also listing some movies to see with hubby.
ReplyDeleteBig hugs,
FABBY
This really is a happy list, thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteSo my first time linking up is a fail, as my happy post doesn't exactly follow this format you all seem to be using. Will work on it for next time!

Ricki Jill I hope Shelley's first day of school was awesome and that all is going great.
ReplyDeleteThe rain has stopped for a bit today and I am motivated now to stop looking out the window and get to work.
I am always so inspired by the books you post. I am headed to amazon now, lol.
Loving how the dream catcher looks on Shelleys shabby chic bed. So perfect.
Glad ya found it for her :)
Have a Happy week
Amy
YAY! We love swaps! :D
ReplyDeleteWe had an epically LONG summer, so you can have some of ours. We need rain. Fedora and I are ready to make soups and drink tea now. :)
This is my first time linking and my first time to your site - I love it! I found you through Jill @ Jill's World. And from your post I'll be checking out the Goddess and the blogger book club. - Great post.
ReplyDeleteI'll be back. - You've been warned. :)
That big bowl of salt water taffy makes me happy just looking at all that pretty color. I think your day is full of happiness. Mine too!
ReplyDeleteHi RJ, Love your Happy List today. A bowl full of taffy would make me very happy and it looks great in your MacKenzie Childs bowl. Love the sunflowers on the kitchen table as well, they always make me happy. I know we both will be happy come Saturday :)

Oh, how lucky you won the book! I am so enjoying it so far. I could not put it down last night. I ended up getting it on my Nook this time to start right away, once she announced. Thankfully I could read while Todd is sleeping on my Nook. I stayed up until 3:35 (having to get up at 6 am) until my Nook was not charged any longer. I could not put the book down!
ReplyDeleteGreat Happy List. It makes me happy thatyou are happy.
What awesome happy mail! That dream catcher is just gorgeous and I adore the bowl of taffy. It looks so pretty on your table.
ReplyDeleteThe bowl of salt water taffy makes a beautiful center piece, plus you can eat it!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness that taffy looks SO good. And I love that dream catcher. Thinking my girls and I need to make our own version. That is such a cute and different take on one.
