Do you show your patriotism by decorating for Independence Day? Alison @ The Polo House is hosting her Favorites on the First blog party and she want us to share our favorite patriotic decor.
Since we'll be at the lake for the week, I didn't pull out all the stops in town. I only decorated our kitchen and dining room table. Let's take a look:
In the kitchen, I used some vintage quilted table linens. The look is patriotic, but very primitive. I don't normally gravitate toward that style, but I still enjoy the linens from time to time.
Resources:
Table runner, placemats, glasses, pitcher, heart with flag: Vintage eighties
Rattan chargers, patriotic stars, napkins, cupcake towel, pilar candle and holder: Pier 1
Plates and votives: Longaberger
Flower frog: Etsy
Firecracker towel: The Fresh Market
Leather napkin rings: Williams-Sonoma
The dining room is a very loose interpretation of patriotic, but I wanted to use what I already have:

This pilar candle is from Pier 1 and it's new. It is a berry and vanilla scent. It seriously smells like heaven!
The hydrangeas are from our garden.

White linen runner and pilar candle holder: Pottery Barn
Colorful runner, chargers, napkins, and napkin rings: Pier 1
Large plates: MacKenzie-Childs from the Taylor Collection

beautiful, love it, such wonderful colors and variations in styles and textures, its a wonderful mix that shines so well together!
ReplyDeleteI ant those stars!!!!! And the candle!
ReplyDeleteOMG, everything in your setting is gorgeous! Starting from the quilt as table topper and the weaker chargers and stars are awesome, my friend. Now in the other table, the White chargers are so pretty along with the sweetiest dishes and lovely centerpiece. Wishing you and your dear family a fabulous Fourth!

Beautiful! I can't even imagine what going all out looks like! :)
ReplyDeleteRicki Jill- It looks BEAUTIFUL! I am not usually into primitives either but I really love the way this layers things up and it has such a feel of patriotism to it. LOVE the way it looks. Okay- and table Number 2-Miss Smarty Pants who has not exceeded me by TWO styled tables- looks just gorgeous. I love how sweet and pretty it is. Nice job(s)!;>) xo Diana
ReplyDeleteHi Ricki Jill!
ReplyDeleteYour table looks awesome! I keep looking at your plates that have the blue half -- so unusual. I love those!
Have so much fun at your lake house. I hope to have one of those someday.... maybe?
:)
Happy Fourth to you and your family,
xoxo

This is just so cute and festive! I love everything! I just found these placemats at Pier 1, too. And I saw the little wood stars and thought they would make a pretty banner to string together (just needed way too many packs than I could afford!)
ReplyDeleteHave a great 4th!
XO,
Jane
I love both, the dinning room is more elegant, the kitchen is more country. Both are very beautiful! I absolutely love your towels. LOVE THEM!!!!
ReplyDeleteRicki Jill, both tables look patriotically perfect! Of course I favor the second with a touch of McK-C. '-)
ReplyDeleteI have the Let Them Eat Cake vase too. I didn't use it on my table, but other blue and white ceramics take center stage for this year's table. Hope you and your family have a terrific 4th at the lake. ;-)
Very nice, both areas. I think you definitely pulled out all the stops!! I got nothing!, I do some outside and my kitchen, but since I'm leaving the day after, I decided to do little. But I love the 4th of July and usually go all out!! Love your's, Ya'll have a wonderful holiday and I'll check in when I return!!
ReplyDeleteI love quilts as table covers. That is a great look!
ReplyDeleteHave a great 4th!

I did my porch and that was the extent of my 4th decor.
ReplyDeleteI love your country styling of the table. I always fall hard for primitive americana styling.

Love this post! My oldest child being born on the 4th of July, we've really grown to love the Holiday even more! She's all over it!
ReplyDeleteI'm a freak for the chairs.
ReplyDeleteHi Ricki Jill~ Love your tables, I am especially fond of your quilted linens with the stars! I ADORE your Let Them Eat Cake vase filled with hydrangeas! Hope you have good weather at the lake for the 4th! They're calling for more rain here so it looks like it will put a damper on all the fireworks and festivities.
ReplyDeleteYour tables look wonderful! I love patriotic decorating! You have some special items in your tablescapes! Thanks for all the inspiration! I love your quilt and the tea towels are adorable! Happy Fourth of July!
ReplyDeleteI love your two tables Ricki Jill....but the first is so homespun and patriotic to me....apple pie perfect!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Fourth of July!
Both tables are just so amazing!...I love the table runners of the first table...they are so versatile for many events and holidays...Have fun at your lake house...have a safe and happy 4th!
ReplyDeleteOnce again, your style and attention to detail blows me away. Just gorgeous! I love the rustic look with the 4th of July decor. :)
ReplyDeleteI love it all!! Have fun at the lake.
