Do You Have Any Idea What This Is?

Any idea at all?  ;P

Well, let's just open it up and see what's inside!  ;P

This box is a MacKenzie-Childs catalog from the mid-nineties.  My sweet New Orleans friend Wendy gave it to me years ago.  She's also a MacKenzie-Childs collector, and she knew how much I'd appreciate the catalog.  It's one of my favorite surprises *ever* because it's so entertaining: The box is filled with dozens of postcards.  On the back of the postcards are descriptions of the products shown on the front.

There are a few odd if not totally bizarre postcards in the box.  Check these out:

Chicken, with Checken Casserole, with Chicken's Eggs
1 1/2 quart capacity

Nellie the Elephant
Bombay chest and floor lamp

"What's that?  It's just my baby hippo skiing."
Setting seats, 31" in diameter

While looking through the catalog, I found some things I wish MacKenzie-Childs would take out of retirement.  :D

Guest House
(This was really in Victoria and Richard's laundry room.)
P & G Settee
I love the blue and white ticking on the cushion!

Small Oval Vase with Frog
I really want MacKenzie-Childs to bring back the frogs!

I hope you enjoyed today's Show & Tell!  ;P

Until next time...

Blessings!

  1. Ricki Jill, thank you for taking the time to photograph and show this treasure. I'd seen it before years ago at the shop where I first bought my McK-C. I think it must have been produced for dealers. What a lucky girl you are to have one of these keepsakes! And I definitely vote yes on bringing back the flower frogs. I could give them a list of items I wish they would bring back our of retirement. '-)
