I hope everyone in the Deep South is preparing for lots of rain from Tropical Storm Lee. We are in South Alabama putting away boats and jet skis before the lake starts rising.
Since we will be here in the cabin, in the rain, for most of the weekend, I thought I would share with you more of Mr. Art @ Home's "decorating" (a term I use very loosely around here). Mr. Art @ Home is not allowed to touch anything in our Birmingham home with the exception of televisions and audio equipment (design wise). His taste is horrible (except in women of course ;P ), but I do let him play around the lake cabin because I am such a great wife, and it is entertaining. Mr Art @ Home is very funny, and his antics make all of his girls very, very happy!
My Happy List for this week is subtitled:
Signs of the Times
Here are some signs you can find hanging around our cabin. All of them were found and purchased by Mr. Art @ Home. Disclaimer: Any philosophies/ideas expressed on these signs may or may not reflect my personal philosophies and/or opinions. As a matter of fact, please assume that they do not. ;P
This one is his latest purchase, bought on Thursday.
Mr. Art @ Home did install some lovely Silhouette blinds after he took down the very ugly metal mini blinds. He did this to make me happy; pretty new blinds make me very, very happy!
Another reason we are at the lake today rather than Tuscaloosa is because we have our annual homeowners' meeting. Alabama is playing Kent State today, and I hope that Kent State gets a standing ovation at Bryant Denny Stadium because their football players and other volunteers have been in Tuscaloosa building homes for those affected by April's tornado. This story warms my heart, and makes me very, very happy!
My daughter's sorority is having an "After the Game Tailgate Party," and I hate to miss it. Roll Tide, Shanley Belle! We will miss you today, and I promise we will watch the game on TV. Crimson Tide Football makes me very, very happy!!!
Bryant-Denny Stadium, sent from Shanley's iPhone.
I hope you have a very Happy Labor Day Weekend, and you spend it well with family and friends. What are your plans for the weekend?
Until next time...
Blessings!
Ricki Jill
You have the best sense of humor!
ReplyDeleteLaughing so hard right now :)
Yes we are deep into the college football saturday.
It will really start once USC takes the field.
Usually I am not allowed to be in the house when USC is on tv...my husband likes to view this alone.
Which is fine by me, that just means I am out shopping away...GO USC!
Have a great weekend at the lake and hope the rain doesn't hit too hard.
Take care
Amy

Your hubby's signs made me smile!
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy your weekend at the lake and that all of your toys will stay safe when the water rises with the storm.
We spent yesterday boating, floating, or dock sitting and it was pure heaven. We don't have a house at the lake, so it's always a day trip for us. Hoping to get back today or Monday depending on the weather. I hate that summer is ending!
Hehehe! I love the signs too. Here's hoping that your weekend was wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI agree, my hubby is not allowed to touch anything when it comes to decorating either! LOL Oh how I would love to be in a cabin for a long rainy week-end, with nothing to do but lounge around and listen to the rain. Have a great one, and enjoy your rainy week-end at the lake.
ReplyDeleteTHANKS FOR THE laugh out loud. You definitely have a fun family!
ReplyDeleteHey there Ricki Jill!! Love those signs... how funny!! Hope you are having a wonderful weekend and things are good over your way! :) Hugs, Courtney
ReplyDeleteHahaha Ken has his office to decorate- and only his office. His girls have to approve his wardrobe before he goes out if it's anywhere more upscale than Walmart. Really. How sad is that?
ReplyDeleteToo funny, I laughed right through this post. Dev has one of the memory cards at school but she promised to do her best to get some vacation pics up this week.
