I'm Dreaming of a Pink Christmas

Tuesday, December 7, 2021

Welcome, My Lovelies, to the Christmas Tablescape Blog Hop!

I want to thank Rita @ Panoply for hosting the hop!

This Christmas our daughters and I decided on a pink theme for Christmas.  We love pink, and thankfully Mr. Bookish only sees two colors: teal and taupe.  HAHA!  Let's take a look at our tablescape in the dining room.

Our table is set for Christmas day brunch.  We will have a breakfast casserole, buns, fresh fruit, mimosas, coffee, and tea.

Shelley chose the floral napkins.  She likes how they look with the vase, ornaments, and tablecloth.

Pink ornaments influenced the theme.

Jam pot will hold jam for the buns.

My friend Barbara suggested the white hydrangeas to bring in some winter white.

I also placed a couple of pretties with more pink and pastel ornaments on the Welsh dresser.

Resources:  Everything on the table is MacKenzie-Childs, Waterford (Lismore), and Horchow hotel flatware.  The tablecloth is Yves Delorme, and the napkins are from World Market.

Since a few of y'all are new to my blog, I enjoy writing Advent posts this time of the year.  For Advent 2021, I'm sharing my homemade Advent Calendar made from Chrismons.  You can read more about it HERE.

I hang the Chrismons using frayed velvet ribbon, the color of a Christmas tree.

My Advent Calendar in the art studio

Here is today's Advent Chrismon:

A bell is often used to call people to worship. This Chrismon symbolizes the sounding forth of God's word and serves as a reminder that God should have first priority in our lives.

Today's scripture:

Zechariah asked the angel, “How can I be sure of this? I am an old man and my wife is well along in years.”

The angel said to him, “I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to tell you this good news.  And now you will be silent and not able to speak until the day this happens, because you did not believe my words, which will come true at their appointed time.”

Meanwhile, the people were waiting for Zechariah and wondering why he stayed so long in the temple.  When he came out, he could not speak to them. They realized he had seen a vision in the temple, for he kept making signs to them but remained unable to speak.

When his time of service was completed, he returned home.  After this his wife Elizabeth became pregnant and for five months remained in seclusion.  “The Lord has done this for me,” she said. “In these days he has shown his favor and taken away my disgrace among the people.”

Luke 1:18-25

Until next time...

  2. Your pretty in pink table is perfect for this Christmas season, Ricki Jill. All of your MKC pieces add such a cheery, whimsical flair, and your napkins, picked by Shelley are so sweet. Your Chrismons hanging by the velvet ribbon are the perfect Advent adornment.

  3. OH to have a seat at this table! Both whimsical and elegant.

  4. I love pink ornaments AND non-traditional Christmas colors, too! Your advent calendar is so lovely. Merry Christmas!

  5. This is such a sweet table with all the pinks and blues mixed together. I love the color pink, and think it makes a pretty whimsical table for the holidays.
    Merry Christmas!

  6. Beautiful. I love the pink and white. Those napkins are so pretty with your plate setting. Very cute and fun. Breakfast Christmas morning sounds wonderful. xoxo

  7. Ricki Jill, your MKC collection is gorgeous and I love pink for any season. The Yves Delorme tablecloth is exquisite and makes the perfect foundation for your collection. Your hubby sounds like mine, maybe. Mine could care less about the color scheme or plate stack, but it is all about what we are going to eat. The breakfast menu sounds perfect! Wishing you a most joyous Christmas Season!

  8. It is lovely.
    Your menu sounds wonderful!
I am enjoying your Advent, thank you!

  9. I love your candy colored Christmas, Ricki Jill! Hilarious comment of what Mr Bookish sees. I don't even think Mr P sees that! Dreaming of a pink Chrismtas comes vividly to life with that scrumptious Yves Delorme tablecloth and the M-C ceramics! Your friend Barbara advised you well on the white hydrangeas. The Christmas ornaments in bowl, on the tree and in the hurricane are nostalgic of Christmases past, but that advent calendar makes my heart skip a beat. That frayed velvet ribbon (source, please, just beautiful) and that elevated tabletop centerpiece is working fabulously to showcase your crismons! I would love to replicate that. It is really beautiful.
Thank you for bringing your unique and artistic flair to the table, Ricki Jill. It inspires me!

  10. I agree with Rita, You have a unique and artistic flair. Your Chrismons are lovely.
Your MacKenzie Childs pieces are gorgeous.Love the shape of the coffee pot and sugar and cream pieces. The napkin rolled in the napkin ring placed horizontally was artistic.
The pink cloth is beautiful and accents all your pottery pieces and lovely crystal goblets.
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas. So glad you joined the tablescape group.

  11. Your table looks like it's straight from Aurora! So many pink pretties, I love how you made it all work for the holidays with festive napkins, flowers and pastel ornaments. Your advent calendar with the painted crismons is gorgeous! I wish you a very Merry holiday season!

  12. Ricki, your pin k table is lovely. I love pink too. You are so fortunate to have such a lovely collection of Mackenzie Childs pieces. They look gorgeous. Gorgeous Yves Delorme tablecloth. 14. OOOH, I adore all of your lovely M-C pieces, especially the coffee pot (that is a beauty). I spent today at the Outlet and saw it there! The flowers are perfect, too! Have a wonderful holiday season!!

  15. So pretty in pink Ricki Jill! You have such a stunning collection of MKC Taylor ceramics and they pair so beautifully with your pastel vintage ornaments. Tell Shelley I approve of her pretty floral napkin choice. :) I love your display of Chrismons hanging from the velvet ribbon. As always it’s a treat to join you at the table and hop with you. Wishing a Merry December ♥

  16. What a stunning and expansive collection of ceramics you have Ricki Jill! And how very lovely that you included your daughters in styling the beautiful and unique holiday table. I particularly appreciated the vintage ornaments; so very special.

  17. The most special thing about your tablescape is that it was a shared labor of love. How sweet that you and your girls would collaborate and create something you will all love this season. And the fact that this will be a shared memory upon which you can all reflect in the future...priceless!

Your husband is largely colorblind? Not great for him, I'm sure, but it works out for you and the girls! You could have your home looking "Steel Magnolias" "blush & bashful" from top to bottom and he'd never know!

I'm really intrigues with the way you display your greeting cards. What an eye-catching way to do it!

Merry Christmas to you and your family! Enjoy those memories in the making!

  18. The pink is just spectacular, I love it!! My girls asked if we could have a pink Christmas one year and I said maybe, we're so immersed in red over here, it'd be quite and investment to swap...but maybe a few new additions to brighten would be fun, especially after seeing your table!! And I love your Advent art and shares. It's the reason for the season and I'm enjoying reading your posts each day!

  19. Your whimsical table setting is just what Christmas brunch calls for -- merry and bright! I love that your daughters were part of the process. A lovely way to grow future tablescapers! Have a jolly December!

  20. I love pink, and this is such a pretty table! You have so many lovely MC pieces. Your Christmas brunch menu sounds delicious! This is such a beautiful room to enjoy a meal with loved ones. Wishing you a Merry Christmas!
