Poofing the Pillows Feature and Hurricane Harvey Relief

Saturday, September 2, 2017

Happy Saturday, My Lovelies!  I hope you are enjoying a fun, peaceful Labor Day Weekend. Guess where I've "been" this weekend:

Yesterday Stacey at Poofing the Pillows featured our home on her First Friday Home Tour. Thank-you, Stacey!  Here is the LINK in case you missed it.

I haven't blogged much this week because we helped Shelley move back to school, and I've been glued to the TV watching Hurricane Harvey coverage.  Many of our brothers and sisters in Texas are hurting and have lost everything.  Where to donate can be overwhelming: I want us to make the best choices we can.  We've decided to donate to:

I've noticed in my inbox that several businesses are donating generously to help Texas.  Here is my favorite one:

From Aurora with love

"We extend our deepest sympathies to everyone impacted by Hurricane Harvey. To support our friends in Texas and aid in the recovery, 50% of the sales from our limited-edition Courtly Check Enamel 3 Quart Tea Kettle with Butterfly will benefit the United Way of Greater Houston Relief Fund with proceeds going to Greater Houston, while supply lasts."

Isn't this MacKenzie-Childs kettle beautiful!  Your kitchen called and said she needs it.

So if you're in the market for a tea kettle (everyone needs a tea kettle!), why not purchase one of these beauties?  Here is the LINK.

If you would like to share any information about reputable charities helping Houston including links, please share in comments below!

Until next time...

  1. Yes, please on the info. I've done Red Cross and was thinking of Houston ASPCA but would really appreciate info on locals. I believe locals have fewer admin costs and are more likely to get the donation directly to the people.

  2. I took the tour at Stacey's, everything looks s pretty, I don't think I knew you had a pink island! Your studio is an artist's dream! Thank you for all the donation info and I was so happy to see MKC responding, so many people have stepped up~

  3. Thank you for sharing about Texas. We've donated to Red Cross and ASPCA but I have to tell feels minute!! We will all need to donate again and again probably.
