It has been so hot here lately, and I've been outside quite a bit. We've moved one daughter to college, and another one home for a graduate school externship. So needless to say we've been in and out of many buildings. Often. In this heat....I'm so over it....
So I've been cranking up the air conditioning and drinking pumpkin spice lattes. ;P ...and dreaming of cooler nights. I can't wait to enjoy fires outside on our patio!
Late last night I was relaxing while falling down a Pinterest rabbit hole, and I thought it would be fun to share a few images and videos of things I'd like to do this fall (if it ever gets here....)

This lovely yet simple autumnal tablescape tutorial can be found here on Julie Blanner's blog. What a simple and pretty idea. I also follow her on Pinterest, too.
I like to decorate with apples in the early autumn. Apples remind me of back to school time!
Aren't these pumpkins and gourds fun!?!? I found them here via Pinterest.
I admit I look forward to decorating with pumpkins later in the month!
Speaking of pumpkin spice lattes, wouldn't you love to make them in the comfort of your own home? Check out this recipe!
I tried the new Starbucks Hot Chili Mocha today. My car's thermostat read 97 degrees, and I stupidly drank a mocha that packs a lot of heat. I wanted to jump in a tub full of ice when I finished drinking it.
I don't know about you, but my petunias are leggy and tired. Truly many of my containers look pitiful. Check out this tutorial for a pretty planter from Terrain:
And finally, one of my favorite pins from Buckets of Burlap:
Simply perfect
Is summer still in full swing in your neck of the woods? Have you decorated for fall yet? I think I'll start with some apples later in the week. I'm still trying to get my house in order. It has been a complete and total wreck!
Until next time...
Blessings!
Ricki Jill
It's still hot here but the evenings have been nice enough to get out and walk this week. YAY! I love to decorate for Fall. Enjoy your day sweet friend. Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteI hope that latte is still available when the weather cools off enough to drink it! And actually enjoy it. I have been hooked for quite a while on hot chili chocolate flavors. Thinking about trying it on brownies! I made your curtains a couple of days ago --BIG HIT!
ReplyDeleteNO! Not one fall vignette here yet RJ. I agree, it is so hot here it's hard to get in the mood to decorate. I am enjoying fall vignettes in stores for now, mine will come later in the month. Wow, you have been busy with the girls and I know you enjoyed every thing you were doing with them, except saying goodby! Stay cool, maybe we will get a cool breeze before the end of the month!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHi RickiJill,
ReplyDeleteI am not quite ready to jump on the fall decor band wagon just yet. Holding on to summer for a few more weeks.
I am a summer girl so while I love fall and the crisp air and colors I am still holding on for these summer filled days left. Love all this inspiration. So pretty.
Kris
I am not a fan of pumpkin flavoured drinks, I don't mind it when it is baked but that is about the only time I eat it
ReplyDeleteHi, things are still growing strong here in Wisconsin. In fact we are having a record growing season!! I am still picking fresh cucumbers!
ReplyDeleteI love all your ides. I am excited for less humidity...so Autumn On! ;-)
Carla
Pretty photo shares RJ. Philadelphia is sizzling - tomorrow another 95 degree day! YIKES those poor pumpkin patches!
ReplyDeleteOhh that was fun! I love to fall down the Pinterest rabbit hole :) You poor thing, I can't imagine anything worse than moving in this heat! My daughter moved home after college while she went to grad school, and it was such a bonding time for us...it's so nice when your daughter grows up and becomes your best friend. I am crazy over the apple table, perfect for early fall!

Oh, I'm sure you remember what this time of year is like here in the AZ desert....monsoon time with a good dose of humidity! At least the temps have been hovering at or below the century mark. I am one of those early birds when it comes to Fall decorating, but it is my favorite season, albeit a "faked" one here. I've also been purging a lot of decorations, getting ready for a big neighborhood garage sale in October. I really do love my home, especially dressed for Fall; so I'm enjoying the inside and refraining from venturing outside. The humidity really does crazy things to my now curly hair...every day is an adventure!
ReplyDeleteI've started listening to The Bone Tree and really like it!
Hugs,
Carol
