I was *PIN*spired!

Sunday, March 9, 2014

I've been eyeing some lovely stair risers on Pinterest for months, and I finally decided to wallpaper ours.  Let me first share with you my "pinspirations."

This lovely staircase is from the book Vintage Home by Sarah Moore.  I love the mix of florals with white backgrounds.  Photo is by Debi Treloar.

I love this staircase with pastel wallpapers.
This staircase was styled by Selina Lake, and the photo shows how to decorate with these colors for Christmas.

How cheerful are these bold prints mixed with smaller prints on the risers of this staircase?  Precious, I tell ya!

From these three favorites, I decided to combine mainly pinks and aquas.  I finally chose these four wallpapers from Seabrook.

I must have looked at several dozen floral wallpaper books before deciding on these from two different Seabrook collections.  I had our paint chip with me while looking at papers, which helped.  The background in the bold rose and aqua faux flocked paper is the same color as Benjamin Moore's Mayonnaise.

Here are our stairs.  They lead from the kitchen to the girls' bedrooms and library.

Usually the antique table collects books and other stuff that needs to be taken upstairs.

The hooks hold sweaters, jackets, scarves and purses.  We put away the coats, and I hope we're not being overly optimistic.

Our dining room to the right of the stairs.

I wanted to use at least one bold pattern, and I chose the cabbage roses.

The project took me about six hours start to finish.  I will post a tutorial on the entire process Wednesday, so stay tuned!  ;P

  38. Beautiful stair makeover!!! I just redid my stairs this week, but I think I like yours better. Mine look so plain compared to yours. My stairway is also between two walls instead of open. Well done and I love yours better than any of the inspiration photos. Lovely choice of wallpaper.
