Everyone's favorite Half Blood Prince has invited you to a dessert tea party. There has never been a more loathed hero in all of literature.  Let's see what Professor Severus Snape has planned for us, shall we?

DISCLOSURE:  When Shanley Belle was in fourth/fifth grade and she'd get mad at me or her little sister, she'd say that we'd have been sorted into Slytherin House.  This was the most horrible insult she could hurl at us!  I teased her and told her that Snape was going to be a hero in the series, and she'd get so mad at me!  I *so* called that one!

  1. OMGoodness! WHAT a party! Can you believe that I never read Harry Potter or watched any of the movies? Iknow- I know- I am from another planet or something. Your photos are spooky and fun- xo Diana

  2. Those snickerdoodles look divoooon!

Popped by from the Halloween Tea Party.

  3. Those lilies are just beautiful! Thank you for invite me to your party, it was such a good idea to have music playing whilst I mingled :) happy Halloween :)

  4. Delightful! I love all the Halloween posts, which are popping up. After all, it's not long now!!!!!

  5. Lovely party, those snickerdoodles look delicious!

If you haven't already, do come celebrate Halloween with me at my 2 little parties:

    1. Feasting with the ghosts at:

    2. Dancing with the witches at:

  6. Just loved your Slytherin themed party! I have to say Slytherin is my favourite house!

  7. What a fun party! You covered all the details most cleverly, RJ. Fun time!!!

  8. The bouquet of flowers so pretty and steals the show. It is the perfect contrast to the dark things around it. Enjoy your day and have fun!

  9. Great job! Love the photos and decorations!

We use to do a Harry Party every September on the first day of school. This year she didn't want one :( But I suspect in a year or two, she will want one again.

  10. Oh my goodness. What a fun post. I was kinda sad that Snape's heroism only came out at the very end. I always had a soft spot for him for some reason.
That pumpkin coffee with ice cream sounds wonderful.

  11. I love it all! The snake wine stopper, the quaich, the're brilliant! We just got the Half Blood Prince DVD from the library (I've read all but the last book, and seen all the movies up to that one), so your timing is also excellent.

And hey, Rowling herself said that Slytherin isn't all villains, it's just the house for the highly ambitious wizards. :)

  12. Oh, how sweet and fun.

Our street had a Halloween party last night. The theme was famous couples. Steve wore a chicken suit. I wanted to go as an egg, but we settled on Colonel Sanders.

  13. Love the tea! This makes me want to read the books and see the movies. I read the first book and saw the first movie and not any more. I guess I should have hung in there. Love your's spooky and romantic.

  14. Oh, RJ, you did a great job! I loved the fact you chose music (and appropriately too) to play prior to reading. Great job!

  15. Wow! You are a fan, and a knowledgeable one at that! Can I send a link to this on my FB? It's a family only FB and my sons and grandsons would love it.

    Amazing tea party! Beautifully done!

  16. Fabulous tea party. I'm always amazed with your creativity.

  17. I am so glad I am able to enjoy Halloween through blogland. I have been up to my eyeballs with a wedding so Halloween has been put on the back burner.
I love your decoration and esp. the snake cane or what is that? Pumpkin ice cream float, yummy. They say Pumpkin flavor has outsold apple this fall. Go Pumpkins.

  18. I liked scrolling through the post made me feel like I was hanging out and having a good time with you

  19. Oh I loved this and the attention to detail with the music and all the sweet goodies. Thank you for visiting my little party too. Happy Halloween!

  20. What a beautiful party.
I will admit I have not read nor seen the Harry potter books or movies. Or twilight series. I am one of the rare ones I guess.
I will let the music play as I hop to other parties.

  21. What a wonderful interpretation of the Harry Potter stories - I love it!

  22. Hello! I came by to say what a fun and VERY creative tea party!!! My daughter LOVED it as well, when I shared it with her, a BIG Potter fan! Thank you for sharing your amazing post! Happy Halloween....

  23. Oh my goodness, what an amazing party!! I love all things Severus Snape and am happy to be part of Slytherin house. All the details are just so... wow! Wonderful, wonderful job!!
