Friday Confessional: The Silly, the Smashing, and How to Deal With Crappy Fortunes

Friday, July 19, 2013

I confess...
I confess that I can't possibly have any more birthday cake, cupcakes, or other sweets.  No more sweets for me!  We've celebrated six birthdays this week.  No mas!  :/

Mr. Art @ Home's birthday party table

I confess...
I confess that I made an impulse buy when I went to the Cook Store to buy some pink sea salt.  But it was so cute!  Check it out:

*giggles*  Got to LOVE this this tea infuser!  It would make a great stocking stuffer.

I confess...
I confess that I've been a smashing fool lately.  I was buying some supplies, and I found the mini books. They're great!  They'll both fit in my purse.  One I'm using for art inspirations, and the other one for lifestyle inspirations.

The blue mini book is in 3D and comes with glasses!  I might use this one for my art inspirations journal.

I confess...
I confess that swearing-off sugar lasted all of about five minutes.  This is my newest and most favorite snack of all time!  ;P

Candy-covered sunflower seeds!

I confess...
I confess that I always have the most craptastic fortunes from fortune cookies.  It's a family/friend joke, I tell ya!  But Beth @ Living a Goddess Life has the solution:  add the phrase "in bed" to fortunes. Brilliant!  {and very funny}

My latest fortune:

{in bed.}

I confess...
I confess that I'm worried about Bonnie Blue's sanity.  She came in from sunning herself on the deck, stretched out on the floor, and stared at reflections for a very long time.

I confess...
I confess that I really needed the challenge today in The Book of Doing.

Today's challenge:  Remove these three words from your vocabulary:  can't, never, and stupid.

Are there any other words you want to eliminate?  Yes!  I'm so happy you asked!

fat     skinny     popular    rich    hate    idiot

There.  I feel so much better!

I confess...
I confess that my daughter is listening to a dramatic reading of Fifty Shades of Grey read by Ellen Degeneres.  I guess I'll be cutting this post a bit short as I must needs confiscate a laptop!

What do you have to confess this week?  Join Aubrey @ High-Heeled Love and share!
{I know some of you need to confess  ;P }

Until next time...

Blessings!
Ricki Jill

  4. Hi Ricki Sweetie...
    Oh what a wonderful post today. I so enjoyed reading it. Love the shares. Your ducky is just DUCKY. Love it.

    I confess that I bought several of those mini books as well. Aren't they just the best? I have one for my daily thoughts. Things I come across that I want to remember. Things that just pop into my head. I have had fun decorating them because they are small and it doesn't take much. Makes a wonderful gift to share as well.

    I confess that I have not been a very good blogger of late, and I promise to get back into the swing of things. I have missed seeing what everyone is up to this summer.

    I too confess that I want your little ducky tea infuser. That is just plain stinking cute. Love it. I am going to search for some for stocking stuffers. I need several.

    Hope you have a glorious weekend sweetie. Many hugs, smiles and much love, Sherry

  5. OK---I just read Ellen's latest book, but never read 50 Shades...sounds like a perfectly hilarious pairing. No way can I take listening to Dory the fish talk sexy talk without laughing!

  6. I confess this is my first visit to your blog and enjoyed every minute. I confess that I will definitely be back!

  7. I confess that I have not bought the Book of Doing because I can't figure out how to use the on-line card my neighbor gave me (too complicated to explain why). I confess that my son (as a teenager many years ago) taught me to add "In Bed" to fortunes and am I the only woman who has yet to read 50 Shades of Gray.

  8. UM... I am trying not to laugh at your last confession...sorry.

    I love the duck tea infuser. Good luck to Shelley at the horse show. I hope you enjoy your millionth birthday fest ;) this week. I think I am going to make a smash book of our vacation. Bonnie Blue is so cute, she's your Taj. We do the "in bed" behind the fortunes here too. They do make them better.

  13. We add "in bed" to our fortunes, too. It makes them all funnier. Love the tea infuser. This Book of Doing really sounds like it needs to live on my bookshelf.

  16. My granddaughter definitely needs to remove stupid from her vocabulary, She likes to stand outside and yell stupid at anyone she perceives to be so. hopefully those first three years she lived in NYC will someday be out of her system :)

  17. Many of your confessions are funny!!! I don't think I've seen Smash books. My daughter found an English brand of notebooking that looked "Alice".

  18. I must find one of the ducks. Too cute and perfect for stocking stuffers. Note to self to buy some blue hydrangeas for my Molly Hatch vase. It has white baby's breath at the moment. The hydrangeas are much more dramatic. Happy Weekend.........Sarah

  25. I confess that I had zero interest in 50 Shades until you mentioned Ellen reading it. Now I'm really curious. I would have taken away the laptop too.
    SUCH a cute infuser!!

  26. Hahaha, Jess loves those rubber duckies, Ricki Jill. I smiled when I saw it in your tea cup, which by the way, is a pretty one.

    Candy-covered sunflower seeds? I've never seen those before, how wonderful.
