It's been a long time since we changed anything in the master bedroom. Here is our bedding before:

LOTS of pillows!  I wanted a simpler bed for summer.

This is how it looks today:

Our antique marble top bedside table is new to the room, too.
I used a plain white ruffed dust ruffle.  You can see it on the left.

I bought the honeysuckle branch embroidered lumbar pillow from Pottery Barn as our one throw pillow.
The yellows in the quilt are brighter than they appear here in these photos.

Resources:
Lumbar pillow:  Pottery Barn
White quilt and shams:  Simply Shabby Chic Ruffle Quilt @ Target
Patchwork quilt:  Vintage/Family Heirloom

We are off to an association horse show.  Our daughter has moved from paddock boots to tall boots.  It should be an exciting day unless it pours rain!

What are your plans for the weekend?

Until next time...

Blessings!
Ricki Jill

  1. Very pretty! I think it looks very peaceful and cozy with the new quilt. I love lots of pillows, too, but they end up on the floor every night. :(

Off to the lake...I have the feeling it's going to be more work than play!

    Jane

  3. Oh RJ I love your bed, before and after! A beautiful bed and I love how you piled it with pillows. The new lighter look for summer is lovely. Your white quilt and shams are gorgeous and the PB pillow is the perfect accent. If Tripp is like Jim, he’s happy to see only one pillow for the summer :) Hope y’all don get rained out for the horse show. It’s raining here.

  6. Very Spring/Summer! I love blue and yellow with one another. It's the colors I want our guest room to be whenever that day comes. I have a country theme in my head but it will be another 4-7 years before that day comes.

    The throw pillow is adorable.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and the weather cooperates for the horse show. Good Luck Shelley!

  7. Your room is so pretty and very fresh. I love that pillow from PB. Nothing going on here that's exciting. I'm trying to get my back porch and deck ready for summer. There's always something!
