Musical Monday: Grammy Awards Edition

Monday, February 11, 2013

British folk-rock band Mumford & Sons, blues-rock duo The Black Keys, alternative singer Gotye, and alternative/pop crossover band fun. won big at the Grammy Awards on Sunday.  I couldn't be more happy to see alternative rock shine this year. Yay!  I've already featured both Mumford & Sons and fun. on Musical Monday, so today I'm featuring the Black Keys.  The Black Keys have an Alabama connection as they record their music in Muscle Shoals.  :D

Winner, Rock Album of the Year for El Camino
The Black Keys

"Gold On The Ceiling"

Down in the waves
She screams again
Roar at the door
My mind can’t take much more
I could never drown in

They wanna get my…
They wanna get my
Gold on the ceiling
I ain’t blind
Just a matter of time
Before you steal it
It’s alright
Ain’t no guard in my house

Clouds covered love's
Barb-wired snare
Strung up, strung out
I just can’t go without
I could never drown in

They wanna get my…
They wanna get my
Gold on the ceiling
I ain’t blind
Just a matter of time
Before you steal it
It’s alright
Ain’t no guard in my house

Congratulations to all of this year's Grammy winners!

Did you watch the Grammy Awards?  Did your favorite song win?

Until next time...

Blessings!

  2. I didn't watch it but all of a sudden this loud music overcame our music speakers in the house and it was mumford & sons. My hubby was watching their concert and apparently wanted us to listen too! Lol. I did enjoy it though.

  3. I am so out of the loop with music since having my boys. I didn't even realize the Grammy's had happened until this morning. Did Mickey Mouse win? That's who we seem to listen to most of the time. ;o)
Really enjoyed this song though. I'll have to look it up and add it to my running list.
