This month Debbie is encouraging us to copy blogs and/or magazines.  So I copied a flower arrangement from Martha Stewart's blog.  :D

This is Martha's.  You can read about it here.

This is my version.

I used hydrangeas from our garden, onion flowers, and baby's breath from the market.

See how large it is on our dining table!

I love copying Martha's flower arrangements.  I copied one of her summertime floral arrangements because I already had a nautilus planter.  I love the detail on Martha's planter...simply stunning!  There is a funny story behind my planter.  I ordered it from Anthropologie several years ago.  It was on sale for $19.00, and it was supposed to be around 10" X 9".  When it came, it was packed in a huge crate, and Mr. Art @ Home was not happy about the huge crate from Anthropologie.  He said that the crate cost more than $19.00, and that there was no way the order was so inexpensive.  This planter is heavy, I tell ya!

Until next time...

  1. I love your version of the arrangement... Your huge crate story made me think about the lamp prize in a Christmas Story.... The leg lamp!

  2. You have a great and unique vase there Ricki! I love it!! And your home is really beautiful. The dining area that provides a beautiful view from the outside is best.

  5. What a great copy cat version of MS's arrangement! Yours is just as pretty if not more so. I love how you used the baby's breath and hydrangeas. I love the container. That is one I missed at Anthro, and you might say you practically stole it at that price. I'm sure your husband did have a moment of terror when he saw the huge crate! I enjoyed seeing your lovely dining room again. The seat covers are GORGEOUS! Also love the pretty scenery out the window. Glad your posting again……..

  18. What a wonderful rendition of Martha's arrangement and I love the mixture of hydrangeas and baby's breath! Your planter is beautiful on your table and perfectly scaled! I can imagine how large the crate was from Anthro :)

  19. Your arrangement is beautiful, big enough to really make a statement. It's easy to see why the arrival of a crate sufficiently large to hold that enormous shell with packing would seem like it had to cost more than $19.00! The flowers are gorgeous, clearly you're ready to take the baton if Martha needs to step down.
