Have any of you heard of Rise Art? I had not until recently, and I discovered a young photographer whose work I adore. I would love to own one of these photographs for our library I am in the process of planning and designing. These are limited edition prints, 90.0cm X 90.0cm.
The photographer's name is Ting-Ting Cheng. Here is a little information from her bio on her Rise Art page:
"Cheng’s practice focuses on the relationship between objects, environments and people’s emotions toward them. Using a combination of images and text, she explores how they anchor and relate to each other. Ting-Ting Cheng was born in Taiwan and graduated from MA Photographic Studies in University of Westminster, London. She has exhibited and received a number of photography awards internationally, including New York, London, Berlin and Taipei."
Check out her photography on her artist's page here.
I really would love one of these!
Until next time...
Blessings!

ReplyDeleteI want to thankyou for the kind words on my blog, I treasure your friendship
Hi this is Ting! by chance I saw this blog, thank you so much for all the good words :) I am glad that you like my project! this is my website, www.chengtingting.com, there are more information about me, I will exhibit the project - I judge a book by its cover, in London in July, will let you know where is it, hope to see you there :)
ReplyDeleteRicki,
ReplyDeleteYour post is very interesting but what are the chances that the artist featured would have drop by your blog for a visit. I know you are thrilled.
We never know who is reading our blogs. Congrats! Kathy
Great post...and even greater that Ms Cheng stopped and commented! Wonders of the internet never cease do they? :-)

how cool love Happy Memorial Day
ReplyDeleteHow cool is that. Wouldn't it be fun to go to the show in July. Those photos would be fantastic in a library.
ReplyDeleteVery cool photos!

These are really interesting Ricki. I think that they would be wonderful hanging in a study, office, or Library.

Ha ha, see I make it around to comment once in a blue moon. {I've had more than two seconds to sit down and actually take the time to do more than look at everyone's pretty pictures. Which btw those are really stunning! Amazing how the right eye can take ordinary objects and make them look like so much more!}
ReplyDeleteNote, there is a *gold* ribbon in the Bengali shot. Get it, gold? :D I still think it's interesting that I've heard almost as much Bengali as I have French!
ReplyDeleteLove the post. Have seen these works in person. They were shown at the London Art fair which was great. Tings work on Rise Art is fun. I like the site, and I think their art personality quiz is pretty cool to. Try it out if you haven't already.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the idea is nice but the photography is bland. Its not showing us anything more than the objects themselves. I can see why you would maybe put these on the walls of your library but that's cause they are books... you surely aren't saying you love the photography are you..? you love the subject - BOOKS! Each to there own.
ReplyDeleteI only showed three of her photographs. She has many other subjects, and I do appreciate her photography. Yes, opinions are each to "their" own, and I do not mind comments that disagree with mine. However, I would think more of you if you would not post anonymously.
