Autumn colors just aren't my thing. Don't get me wrong...I have seen many lovely rooms all decked-out in fall colors, and I think they are *beautiufl*, truly. I just don't think they look right in my home. So I decorate a little differently for autumn. I have just started decorating for the season today, and I wanted to share with you the end table in our family room.
These are photos of my daughter wearing her ballet costumes. She loved wearing them for Halloween, too, when she was young. The frames are mother of pearl mosaics.
I like my little white glass pumpkins. I bought the scary tree candle at the grocery store (maybe it is the Whomping Willow Tree from the Harry Potter series).
This is my favorite MacKenzie Childs vase with my favorite shade of white roses.
Vase is in the Brighton Pavilion pattern.
Do you like fall colors? Am I the only oddball who does not really like them? :/
I will share more fall decorating with you next week. I hope you all have a great weekend!

I love fall colors but really like that they are not the only option for enjoying this season in the home! Love your fall colors...so pretty Ricki Jill!
ReplyDeleteHi Ricki Jill, love your fall decor. I love that you incorporated you daughter's ballet picture in your decor. I am one of those who LOVES fall colors, even tho I did tone things down a bit this year and haven't used as much orange. That is one great thing about blog land, we are all so different, and have our own style/taste, which makes it all the more fun to me.
ReplyDeleteOH I die for fall colors.
ReplyDeleteMy home is dedicated to fall all year round.
But this is why we each have our own homes and way of decorating. We all love differently and show it in so many unique ways.
You are not an odd ball you are just you :)
Amy
nope, not an odd ball at all.I have one ceramic pumpkin, a small one and thats all I have, although I have brought out my wooden bowl of pine cones and a wool tartan throw, our home is mostly white and cream, furniture and paint. My paintings are the pops of color, that and just the one orange pumpkin,, thats it.If you're odd, I am too!
ReplyDeleteI am much more punched up colors- think Caribbean- than fall and traditional natural colors, though I too can enjoy it when others decorate with or wear them. Love how you got the look and feel of the season with your own style.
ReplyDeleteYour colours are just right for you.
ReplyDeleteI love those cute pictures.
I'd love to find some white pumpkins to go in a dish with seashells! Fall colors don't go with my decor here in Florida...but I love them! ♥
ReplyDeleteYour decor looks great & goes seamlessly with your home.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite color is orange but I have to admit when I decorated my mantel for fall & saw all the blue & white accents in my living room, I knew there was a disconnect. So what did I do? I removed all the blue because it was driving me nuts with the orange! I changed curtains, I changed pillows...it was nuts!
Your not weird at all! Everyone likes their fall decor differetly!!
ReplyDeleteI love that white pumpkn!!
xxDaniella
I love fall colors but they do go in my home. The only tough thing is mixing with the reds. I usually just ignore the fact that they don't go together. Your daughter's pics are so sweet.
ReplyDeleteIt looks good and elegant-perfect for your home. I don't change a lot for fall either, decorate mainly outside.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean Ricki...the nice thing now about decorating is pumpkins and fall decor come in all shades now to fit everyone's decor. You did a perfect job of fitting it in!
ReplyDeleteFall is my favourite!
ReplyDeleteNice touches around your home.
Ciao Bella.
I'm having my first cup right now.....mmmnn good!

Ricki Jill,
ReplyDeleteI really like all your Fall decorations. The girls would love that tree candle...so Harry Potterish looking. And those roses are so pretty. I've never seen white pumpkins like those before - very unique. Yes, I like the orangish Fall colors, but I love to see other fall ideas in people's homes.

Your decor looks lovely!
ReplyDeleteIf I lived in a warm climate I don't think I would do Fall colors at all!
I decorate my tablescapes with Fall colors, but not being a fan of orange, I use it sparingly in the house!
Have a great weekend!
You are far from an oddball my friend, I love the way you have decorted for Autumn in your home.
ReplyDeleteI do not like fall colors--like you I can appreciate someone elses use of the colors but its not for me. I know people think I'm weird--I only do white pumpkins!
ReplyDeleteLove the white pumpkins the most. Your decor looks lovely. Fall colors only make it to my home in the Fall, and that's for a short period of time, just to make things festive. I really do favor the pale colors of summer, and whites.
ReplyDeleteOh yes I do. I love the white, it's gorgeous.!I send big hugs your way and thank you for linking up to The Favorite Things hop ♥
