My in-laws brought us some fresh shrimp from New Orleans, and my husband wanted me to make one of Emeril's recipes using the shrimp.
The recipe is Emeril's Shrimp and Asparagus Risotto, and you can find it here on Good Morning America's website.
Twenty-six ingredients and three hours later, I got this:
This recipe is truly worth it, y'all.

{Just kidding, Emeril. You are still my friend. The recipe was easy (although long), and it tasted absolutely sinful.}

Twenty-six ingredients would probably have been a big "Stop Sign" for me! But, it sure does look good.
ReplyDeleteOoooh - looks so uuumm good! I love shrimp and love rice - good enough for me Ricki Jill!

You will love it!
I'm not that good in cooking. And if I have to purchase 26 ingredients I am sure I will forget to buy a few. Thanks for your comment on my blog. You have uplifted my day. I have been riding a roller coaster of emotions from happy to sad, and then happy and sad. But mostly happy.
ReplyDeleteEmeril would have lost me fter 5 ingredients for sure ... but you did a beautiful presentation of your deelish efforts.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week ~

Oh my...that's A TON of ingredients...and three hours...I sure hope it was good!!! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday Ricki Jill!!!
I think I would have stopped at 25 ingredients...lol! I have heard his recipes are a bit difficult although tasty as heck.
ReplyDeleteHi, Ricki,
ReplyDeleteI'm a minimal ingredient girl. My mom cooked simply and my husband does not like weird dishes - a real meat and potatoes guy - so I don't like to experiment. My sister, however, likes to try new recipes and doesn't mind numerous, unusual ingredients that later get thrown out. hee hee Anyway, you tried, right?
Glad to visit always.

Haha! That is so true of "famous chef" recipes, they use so many ingredients! I still love them though, sounds yummy!
ReplyDeleteThis looks yummy even though I am not one for shrimp. 26 ingredients though...geez!
ReplyDeleteI just had Emeril's shrimp this weekend too! I found a much simpler recipe at Foodnetwork though.
ReplyDeleteOH this looks divine!! Yum!
ReplyDeleteI made risotto once and it took so long i have never made it again. This photo is tempting me though!!!

It looks wonderful and I bet it tasted even better!

I love risotto, even though you have to stir it forever. My daughter and I are doing the healthy eating thing right now, so this will have to wait a while for me. I'm sure it is delish!
ReplyDeleteIt looks yummy and you could probably make it with only 24 ingredients.
ReplyDeleteI just saw a simple recipe for risotto on Americas test kitchens. You did not have to stir it constantly!
