Happy Thursday, My Lovelies! Welcome to yet another edition of The Tales of the Traveling Tote!
After surgery and before radiation, Mr. Bookish took me and the family to Watercolor Resort for a nice, relaxing little trip in late September. It was so nice having the family together, and we had fun! I was so ready to get away, let me tell you! We liked that our accommodations were directly on the beach this time. Here are the views we enjoyed:
One of my favorite things about Watercolor is the beach club. It is a lovely place to play in the sun!
Reading one of my favorite books of 2022 poolside
Mr. Bookish reserved a cabana for us so I wouldn't get too hot.
We also were able to watch college football and Chicago Cubs baseball in the cabana.
The beach club is a lovely place to watch sunsets.
Another view of the Beach Club with the cabanas on the lower level
Here are some of my favorite places and things to do while on 30A:
Airstream foodie trucks at Seaside
Riding bikes and Vespas around lakes at Watercolor
View from one of my favorite restaurants, Pescado, in Rosemary Beach
Seaside Chapel
And of course no trip to 30A would be complete without a trip to one of my favorite Indie bookstores, Sundog Books.
Miss Square Peggy hated to leave Watercolor and is looking forward to our next trip.
She's ready to go!

Such a lovely getaway Ricki Jill. Love the waterfront. How sweet the Mr. got you a cabana. Lovely restaurants and shop to enjoy. How fun to getaway with the family. So glad you are done with your treatments. Enjoy the holidays. xo
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you were able to go on a getaway with your family Ricki Jill, after all you've been through this year, you so deserve a trip to the beach and to lounge in a private cabana! Watercolor and 30 A is such a special vacation spot, and what a beautiful view from your room. Relaxing with family and shopping at your favorite bookstore is the perfect medicine for you! Happy December, and I'll see you next week!

Your trip to Watercolor not only looks to be the salve for your soul at the perfect time, but also brings back some good memories for me. We took a trip to Seaside several years back, and those places there were all familiar, as was the bike riding through Watercolor. What a great trip. I'm so glad you've turned the corner on this past year's challenges. I've learned so much from you through it all. ♥ Happy December.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great escape for you and your family RJ. I love Watercolor and every little town along 30-A. I see a lot of your tote family made the trip with you. I love you had the cabana, makes it a bit more comfortable when you don't want a lot of sun. I see some of your favorite places are most of mine too. Seeing your photos of this beautiful getaway makes me want to go too. Looking forward to seeing you and Jenna for lunch next week. Happy December dear girl.......
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful for you and your family to enjoy such a fun, beautiful and relaxing getaway, Ricki Jill! You certainly deserved to enjoy this special time. You’ve been such an inspiration of grace to me. Happy December 🎄❤️🎄
ReplyDeleteSeaside is on my bucket list!! Ever since I saw pics of Nancy Drew's cottage years ago in a magazine, I have wanted to visit! So happy you got to enjoy a getaway, this has been a year long challenge for you and you have been so strong and positive! Wish I could meet you girls for lunch! Have a blessed holiday season filled with joy and happiness!
ReplyDeletePretty spectacular place, RJ. I so enjoyed each of these photos! I spent a week in San Destin decades ago. It was a beautiful place! Happy you and your family could get away. You deserve a beautiful trip! Happy Holidays, sweet friend!
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful getaway for you to celebrate and have a nice escape under that cabana. When you gals talk about Seaside, I always google to see how far away it would be when I visit FL in February. A bit too far LOL. I know I would enjoy Watercolor. So glad you, Emily and Jenna are getting together next week. Merry December!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful spot and lovely getaway. It had to feel a bit like heaven on earth after being home for so long. I love the name of it! (And a bit envious of your meet up with Emily and Jenna!)
