My favorite hostess gift wrapped with seam binding.
Happy Monday, My Lovelies! It's Day Twenty of Advent, and I'm getting very excited about Christmas.
Today I want to share with you a super-easy (and much appreciated) hostess gift: pretty cocktail napkins. A few years ago, we were invited to a party, and I was taught not to ever go to someone's home empty-handed. This might be a Southern thing, I'm not sure. Anyway, I had forgotten to purchase a little hostess gift, but I always have holiday cocktail napkins on hand. Caspari is my favorite brand, and I keep a drawer full of them in our kitchen. This party wasn't for a particular holiday, but I knew the colors of my friend's kitchen, and I had some napkins that would look pretty on her kitchen island. I wrapped a little ribbon around it, and I hoped for the best. This particular friend is all about manners and hospitality, and she loved it! What a relief, I tell ya! I continue to take cocktail napkins to parties. It's my thing now. Do you have a go-to hostess gift? Please share in Comments!
Also, I want to thank Rita! Rita to the rescue! In case you missed it, I was running out of room on my Advent Calendar rod, and Rita suggested I stagger the Chrismons. I had to tie the lowered Chrismons differently because I didn't have enough ribbon. Lesson learned! I will order much more ribbon for my next project. One can never have too much ribbon anyway!

Today's Chrismon:
Shamrock
The three leaves of the shamrock represent God in Three Persons: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. Saint Patrick used the shamrock to explain this concept to the pagan Irish people.
Today's scripture:
Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the reign of King Herod. About that time some wise men from eastern lands arrived in Jerusalem, asking, “Where is the newborn king of the Jews? We saw his star as it rose, and we have come to worship him.”
Matthew 2:1-2
Until next time...
Blessings!

What a great idea to give cocktail napkins! Your advent calendar looks great with the Chrismons hanging at different levels!
ReplyDeleteIt looks fabulous! - Napkins are the perfect gift for any hostess. In the summer I like to bring jars of BBQ seasoning and/or flavored olive oils!
ReplyDeleteI’ve often given pretty napkins as a hostess gift, too. I also will bring homemade bread or jam.
ReplyDeleteI like Rita’s idea and the Chrismons look perfect. I’m loving the shamrock for today...Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Blessings, Ricki Jill!
Such a good idea. I didn't know this. We have brought wine, but I like the idea of a pretty kitchen towel or napkins. Lately, it's eggs for me.
ReplyDeleteThe crismons look beautiful! That worked out really well! I love the Christian meaning of the shamrock with today's crismon. And yes, I do take token gifts to parties, amd although they aren't my consistent go-to, I love cocktail napkins. There are so many really nice ones out there, they're almost too pretty to use!
