Advent Day Twelve 2016

Monday, December 12, 2016

Happy Monday, My Lovelies! Wow, can you believe that it's less than two weeks until Christmas? I can't.  I'm so happy to have my girls home.  If I could just get them up early in the AM to help me bake! Ha!  Not a chance.

Today's cookie is a Treleaven favorite, the Chocolate Crinkle Cookie.  I've made them and featured them on my blog before.  Click here for the post and recipe!

These are a wee bit different than others I've baked in the past.  I gave one of my daughters my credit card to go to the store for me, and she bought Ghiradelli baking chocolate for these cookies.  When we were in Chicago, the Ghiradelli store was one of our favorites.  I would love to visit the factory in San Francisco one day.  The baking chocolate makes them more chewy than the cocoa.  These are richer, too.  If you want a lighter cookie, go with the cookie via the link above.

Isaiah 9:2, 6 - 7

2 The people walking in darkness
    have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of deep darkness
    a light has dawned.

6 For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
    Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

7 Of the greatness of his government and peace
    there will be no end.
He will reign on David’s throne
    and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
    with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the Lord Almighty
    will accomplish this.

Until next time...

Blessings!
Ricki Jill
