Come on in, y'all!

Double, double, toil and trouble;

Fire burn, and cauldron bubble.

Double, double toil and trouble;

Something wicked this way comes!

Fillet of a fenny snake,

In the cauldron boil and bake;

Eye of newt and toe of frog,

Wool of bat and tongue of dog,

Adder's fork and blind-worm's sting,

Lizard's leg and howlet's wing,

For a charm of powerful trouble,

Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.

Double, double, toil and trouble;

Fire burn and cauldron bubble...

SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES!

Next semester we'll study "The Scottish Play" by Shakespeare, so I thought the the Three Witches' Chant would be appropriate for our after school party.  Don't you just love the taunting way Shakespeare switches from his usual iambic pentameter to trochaic tetrameter in this scene?

Please join Vanessa @ A Fanciful Twist

Until next time...

Blessings!

  4. Too fun! Nearly scared Ray our of a year's growth when I cranked up that music while he was peacefully drinking his coffee and reading his Barron's. Very creative! I still love your DR chairs, too.

  7. So festive! I love the Oreo witches' hats and all the handmade decor! The chandelier looks magical and suits the occasion. I love Macbeth. My daughter was in a scene of this in a school play when she was little. She was one of the witches and memorized the poem, beside her lines. Love the rhythm. I used the first line of the raven for mine, because my daughter loves all that goes on with the language in it. Congratulations to your daughter! That's wonderful that it is decided early. xoxo Su

  11. Hi! I really love your post, the way you set your table, and the orange and cream floats sound delicious!
    How clever to put the float in a cauldron.

  12. Oh, it couldn't be any better. So clever to use the Shakespeare chant! The table runner is adorable and love the black and white shades on the chandy. We have an antique chandy so the shades are glass that hang down. I'd love to find a way to make them more festive. Your menu is fun and every bite tasty. I saw the set of witch hats at a friend's store this season. I was tempted to get them, but didn't. Glad you have them for me to enjoy. '-)
    The wicked one is the cutest! I giggled out loud. Gotta love your sense of humor!
    Happy Halloween!

It gives it an entire new feel with the music playing in the background. I love how you tied in home school with this party as well. Well done Ricki Jill and as usual your little guy just makes me giggle.

    I love those cupcakes with the brew...how fun (and disgusting- my favorite Halloween combo)! And thanks for adding the music. That's my wake-up alarm tune on my phone, but I don't get to listen to it in entirety, so that was a treat. Happy Halloween!
