Books 'n' Bloggers Swap Show Off

Thursday, February 6, 2014

If you haven't ever participated in one of the Chaotic Goddesses' swaps, then you're truly missing out.  This one came at a very good time for me, and it has helped lift my spirits so, so much.

My partner for this Books 'n' Bloggers Swap is Kate from A Drawer Full of Stuff.  I met Kate through this swap, and her blog is super adorable just like she is!  Please stop by her blog and check it out.

Kate sent me three books and one of them actually has two novels in it. *squee*  Let's take a look:

First, Kate sent me John Green's Looking for Alaska, her favorite book.  I love that she sent me a book with an Alabama connection!

Next, she sent me a book from my Wish List:  Undressing Mr. Darcy.  I really need to read something light and happy next, so I think I'll read it starting tonight.

She also sent me a pretty hardcover book that includes both Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close and Everything is Illuminated by Jonathan Safran Foer. Kate wants to read them both, and so do I.  I've never read any of his books before!  It's such a pretty edition, too.

And check out this cute little bookmark!  :D  I will *so* use this.

I want to thank Kate for being the best swap partner.  You rocked it, my friend.  I also want to thank Angie and Beth.  Y'all are the sweetest little bloggy friends on the planet!

I will return tomorrow for Literary Friday early in the morning.  I've appreciated all your comments, emails, phone calls, and cards.  Please give me a few days to respond to y'all.  As broken as I've felt, I've truly been blessed by your amazing outpouring of kindness.

Until next time…

Blessings!
Ricki Jill

  2. What a fun idea for a swap. I am sorry I didn't know about the swap because I would have signed up.

I like the titles of your new books and like you I am looking for something light so I just bought Undressing Mr. Darcy on my iPad. Thanks for the suggestion.

Now I will lie back on the window seat, read my book and listen to the rain. YES! It is raining in southern California and the sound is wonderful to my ears.

  8. Looking For Alaska is John Green, so by all accounts it's a pretty awesome read. I haven't read the other two, but I am obsessed with anything Jane Austen related (particularly P&P) so I'll have to see if you liked this or not! And I've been meaning to get around to the other book for ages!
